WE HAVE BEEN OPEN SINCE THE PANDEMIC BEGAN! There seems to be some confusion on our status, leading people to believe we are just reopening this Tuesday. That is not the case. We have been open from the beginning, but 3 weeks ago closed the store to foot traffic and solely offered outside order and pick up or delivery. As of Tuesday, we will REOPEN our store to foot traffic, although we will ask that all individuals wishing to walk in wear a mask (it's common knowledge that t...he mask helps keep your spit (germs) to yourself, and we will again ask for hand sanitizing at the door. *****HOWEVER, we will MAINTAIN the outside call in (819-348-1888) and outside delivery of items for individuals who do not wish to walk in to the store at this time. With a heavy heart: As of September 8th, we will no longer be offering a daycare service. We have provided HUNDREDS of people's pets with a safe and comforting environment over the years, but unfortunately, despite hoping for a change, its cost continues to exceed its revenue. Since it began years ago, it has always cost more to operate than it brings in and for an organization that depends on revenues to save animal lives, we can no longer absorb the loss. Mostly because I i...nsist on having people with the daycare animals all day long. I will NOT cut down on the amount of time I have a human with people's pets and making sure they are continuously supervised. I will not diminish the care and attention I insist all animals get while under our roof, simply to cut costs. We have tried in the last few months to increase the cost per pet per day or per night, with little success. And in all honesty, it just gives me too much stress to ask people to pay more than they ever have before. And, it has been met with reluctance and anger. While this is a very difficult reality for me to face; the daycare was my "baby" when I started at Blue Seal 9 years ago and I have grown to love so many faces that have come to us as a second home, it is also a small blessing in disguise as now my animals who live with us daily will get 100% of our attention and I can provide them with even more room. Our mission is to help animals who have no owners, have no one who loves them, and who are facing euthanasia because they are unwanted, so while it has been my ABSOLUTE pleasure to get to know so many faces that aren't "ours" and I have so thoroughly enjoyed watching so many of them grow, and stay healthy and happy, it is time, whether I like it our not, to cut costs where I can and focus solely on the animals who absolutely need us most. The objective of the daycare was to help us continue to take care of all our animals we are trying to save by hopefully bringing in extra revenue, and while it did not do that financially, it did bring us great joy to be a part of so many pet's families. And I will miss seeing the faces that we have come to know and care very much about. We continue to offer the grooming service and we continue to offer our advice and knowledge with all products in our store and we continue, however hard it may be, to try and help as many animals as we possibly can and I just hope to still see some of the faces we now love so much for visits. We may, in the future, offer daycare for holidays, but for now, we are hoping to provide our animals we have saved from death with even more room and even more one-on-one attention as my heart and ambition is truly with them and I look forward to having only them to worry about and care for. Thank you for your understanding and we (all my employees and all my animals) hope to still see the faces we have come to look forward to seeing regularly over the years, once in a while. Each month, we pay THOUSANDS of dollars in vet bills to help as many animals as we can. Your support makes that possible. Your purchases DIRECTLY help the 60+ animals with us each and every time you come in. The more support we get, the more customers use our services, the more we can help, the less we are limited to doing whatever we have to. It is not uncommon that it takes a $900 vet bill to save a life and if we can do it, we will every time. We (they) depend on your support. We all thank you.
