If the will may be invalid, it's important for the deprived beneficiary to notify the court in a timely way by filing a notice of dispute. Doing so puts administration of the estate on hold and will prevent probate from being granted until the issue is resolved. #EstateDisputes #EstateLaw #estateadministration https://www.leaguelaw.com/posts/notice-of-dispute/

In BC a will writer can specify how long a beneficiary must survive before being given their share of an estate. When a will writer does not do so, by law a beneficiary must survive at least 5 days longer than the will writer in order to inherit. When a person outlives the survivorship period, but dies before an estate is fully administered, their inheritance becomes part of their own estate. https://www.leaguelaw.com/posts/survivorship-period/ #EstateLaw #Survivorship #EstatePlanning

Collisions involving wildlife, such as Elk, can be deadly. Avoiding these crashes in the first place by exercising extra caution on rural roads and advocating for and improving wildlife fencing along corridors that are known to be risky can prevent injury and death. Sadly another British Columbian lost her life and another two were injured in collisions involving Elk near Lake Cowichan in the last day. Those injured in motor vehicle collisions with wildlife are limited to Part 7 (no fault) benefits through ICBC. https://www.change.org/p/icbc-hey-18-needs-wildlife-fencing
