A small token of appreciation for an epic team on a Monday morning You guys rock!!
While some things may be different - some things will never change: the children still love to engage in building of all kinds and love to show off their creations
School age adventures from our first week back.
A lovely, very relevant story shared with our kinders today by Ava & Maggie https://interagencystandingcommittee.org//My%20Hero%20is%2
Some very happy kinders excited to be back!
The Leaps Team having some fun with our new normal! We practiced donning and doffing PPE today during training! Don’t we all look fabulous!!!!
The whole family is helping to get Leaps up and running! We reopen Monday with a limited capacity (8 children in kinder/7 in school age). The new announcement on increasing cohort sizes to 15 children per room gives us some wiggle room after we get into the groove with our new normal. I will be reaching out to families who were enrolled pre-closure and who didn’t get a space (or chose to wait) in round 1 in the coming weeks. For anyone on our wait list - I know you have been ...anxiously awaiting my call! Please know you haven’t been forgotten and I’ll be in touch as soon as I can. For anyone starting Monday - we’ve been working so hard to get the centre ready and can’t wait to see you! Lacey
This was sent my way from Brooke Brum lots of great ideas here!
Keeping with the popsicle theme, here is a site with a lot of really tasty popsicles you can make at home! https://www.countryliving.com/food//popsicle-recipes-0709/
I'm sure that with all these hot summer days we've been having you and your little ones have been enjoying popsicles. Rather than throwing out the sticks, make a craft with them! It can be big or small. Doesn't matter. Post some of your popsicle stick creations on here for everyone to see.
Ontario is working to improve child care for families and operators across the province - and we need your help. We want to hear from families, child care workers and organizations, so we can make Ontario's child care even better. Share your voice at: http://ontario.ca/dygd
Bubble art is by far a Leaps favourite. I usually mix a bit of food colouring into your bubbles. You can then blow bubble right into a piece of paper or use a straw to fill your container with bubbles and press the paper down on top. Either way, it’s a lovely art activity for a lazy, hot day. Just make lots because I promise your kids will want to do it again and again!
It’s always bittersweet when we have to say goodbye to a staff. It’s with a very heavy heart that today we say goodbye to Sam St-Cyr. Sam has been a part of the Leaps and Bounds team since nearly the very beginning and to say she will be missed by the staff as a part of our team, by the children as an amazing educator and as a friend is an understatement! While I hope you’ll rejoin us some day Sam- I know no matter where you end up, you’ll be a rockstar.
Wow its summertime. It's a great time to read your favourite book or if younger have someone read to you. How about making a Monster Bookmarker to help keep your spot in your book. All you need is coloured paper, scissors, markers, glue, googly eyes( or draw eyes) and your wonderful imagination! My silly Monster Bookmarkers are pictured at the end-Maggie
If you have a child that is learning to spell or just a fun activity for the older kids why not have some fun with letter doodles. Here are some of my favourite ones. -Sam
Just a few more craft ideas for Father's Day. Use your imaginations. I know you can create wonderful things. Maggie :0)
