Hey guys! Super exciting times for me as I'm preparing to transition into a new clinic in Uptown Waterloo at the beginning of October. As some of you may know, I'm an RMT/Acupuncturist who's in my third year of Osteopathic studies. In my practice I apply an assortment of techniques to provide active-release therapy, deep myofascial stretching and biomechanical reprogramming. I also use electrical stimulation and IMS to promote the health of musculoskeletal conditions, headac...hes/migraines/chronic/inflammatory pain. I'm really looking forward to joining a functional integrative health-care practice with a stellar team! Did you know that DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) also means Dig On according to Andrew Taylor Still- the founding father of Osteopathy! The following quote is from Mr. Sutherland, who really took Dig On quite literally and discovered something very interesting about cranial bones #osteopathy #atstill #sutherland #cst #osteopath #sphenoid #volume #fluids

One of the best Osteopaths and also the founder of the Canadian College of Osteopathy: Philippe Druelle The photo above is an example of the traditional volumetric hold of the cranium. It provides information on the evaluation of movement at the SBS junction (sphenobasilar symphysis) as well as a global evaluation of the entire volume The photo below is an example of a myofasical release of the diaphragm with reciprocal tension. It provides a general release of global myo...fascial tensions surrounding the primary muscle of thoracic respiration #learnaboutosteopathy #sbs #cranial #osteopathy #cco #2020 #cst #manualtherapy

In correction it is not sufficient to thrust or force a vertebra into line. It is essential to remember that we must rectify the whole gravity line before we can adjust the local lesion or keep it adjusted. This means that the osteopathic lesions is not merely a maladjusted vertebra, series of vertebrae or soft tissues. It is however a disturbance which plays against the force and line of gravity in the spine and body. ~ J.M.
