The Learning Bee 10.09.2020

The last month has been anything but usual. We are all reeling from the widespread implications of the novel coronavirus. Here at The Learning Bee, we hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy, as you comply with the government-mandated social distancing protocols. Unfortunately, one of the many fallouts of this unprecendented global pandemic is the interruption to your children's academic routines. In Ontario, the Minister of Education has announced that th...e closure of all Ontarios elementary and secondary schools will extend until at least May 1 for education staff and May 4 for students, and thus will be rolling out the second phase of the Learn at Home program. Naturally, this might present some new challenges for students and families. Here at The Learning Bee, we're working hard at increasing our capacity to support your family during this time. As a result, we are able to continue providing online Math tutoring for secondary school students. During this difficult time, we are also working on expanding our support to include elementary school students as well, and will be sure to update you when we're ready. Additionally, given the economic impacts of this pandemic, we are waiving our consultation fee and offering a steep discount to new clients, and referral credits to current clients. As we continue through this season together, do not hesitate to reach out to us via email ([email protected]) if you or someone you know needs Math support. Stay safe, stay healthy. With gratitude, Mosope Adeyemi Founder, The Learning Bee Company

Many parents make the mistake of waiting for the negative results of their kids first test before actively seeking support for them. This is a mistake because at that point, it becomes damage control. The school curriculum is designed like building blocks with increasing levels of difficulty as time progresses. The lessons of this unit serve as the foundation of the next unit. So when a child falls behind, it becomes quite difficult to catch up, not to mention getting ahe...ad. The course work continues and gets harder as subsequent units build upon the concepts evaluated in the last test. So the child now has to relearn the previous material, while trying to keep up with the new harder concepts. Also, remember that the first test is an actual evaluation that will ultimately affect your kids final grades. At The Learning Bee, we are able to help students catch up, however we prefer preventive over curative measures. So we highly recommend not waiting for the first test/evaluation before signing your kids up for the academic support theyll need. Our previous clients have found that starting right at the beginning of the school year, has resulted in as much as a 25% increase in their childs final course grade. So dont wait for that sad surprise . About our logo: Clean and simple, but PACKED with many layers of symbolism. Check out the layers below! 1.) 2 boxes laid atop one another symbolizes the progressive nature of learning. Only after the foundation is laid, can further mastery be achieved. 2.) The 2 boxes are intertwined representing the connected nature of the world. Symmetry and overlapping concepts can be found between Math, Sciences, Language etc. The world is connected and those able to see these connections..., are the ones who lead the world. 3.) The 2 boxes form the letter "B" as the learning Bee. 4.) If rotated 90 counterclockwise, the logo resembles the silhouette of a bee. 5.) The lowermost vertex at the tip of the bottom box is a subtle ode to the bee stinger. Having a great educational foundation will serve to protect you in life. BONUS: The colour scheme is an ode to the bee Like we said, it's packed! Can you see anything else?

About our name: The Learning Bee is an allusion to the notion of the "worker" bee. The idea being that while the worker bee is on a never-ending quest of activity, the learner bee is on a never-ending quest for knowledge. The Learning Bee...Igniting a Passion for Lifelong Learning!
