It’s with great pride and excitement to share today, as part of our commitment to this vision, that we are officially evolving from Ladies Learning Code to Canada Learning Code. Our community is everything to us and you’ve made all of this possible. We’re looking forward to building this future together. We had a great three days celebrating computer science week by participating in #HourOfCode with Kim Desveaux of Brilliant Labs / Labos créatifs and over 300 students at Sherwood Park Junior High!

eSchool News has some tips for getting started with Computer Science Education Week, which takes place next week, Dec. 4-10:

Having fun today at our KLC Gamemaking workshop playing video games using humans as conductors for game controllers with Makey Makeys.

At tomorrow's Kids Learning Code: Gamemaking and Circuitry (Ages 8-13) workshop we'll use Makey Makeys to build controllers for the games we create!

This Saturday, Nov. 18th, learn how to build a computer game and the hardware to control it. This is a beginner-level pay-what-you-can event for kids ages 8-13 and their parent/guardian.
