SEMI PRIVATE GROUP LESSONS. Due to the pandemic our regular group class format has changed. Pre COVID our group classes attracted 40+ people, but now in order to keep everybody safe and follow government guidelines for social distancing, only 4 couples will be enrolled. Please note: Masks are worn for the duration of the class. No exceptions. WHAT IS A SEMI PRIVATE LESSON?... A semi private lesson is where a small number of students share a lesson. With fewer participants there is plenty of time for one-on-one attention, maximising your experience and helping you reach your goal faster. Next 8 week beginner Latin & Ballroom session starts 7:30pm -8:30pm Friday, November 20th. If you prefer not to take part in the semi private lessons, private lessons are available by appointment. Contact Susie for more details. See more
YES! WE ARE OPEN! Welcome back dancers! Finally the studio is open again. While everyone is still adapting to a new normal, Learn To Dance is adapting too. At the moment, due to government guidelines for social distancing, we are only able to accommodate private and semi private classes. However, I am working on a plan to safely start group classes in the near future. I am SO excited to see everyone, it's been way too long!... I hope you kept dancin'!! Just for fun, here is my song for COVID 19!! It was a hit 'across the pond' years ago, was it big here? https://youtu.be/FG1NrQYXjLU
Strange, but true.....

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY CANADA DAY!
Hey guys, I hope you've been practicing, looks like there's some stiff competition out there lol!!! Who says you can't dance & shop at the same time? Whether it's Walmart, Fortinos or Longos, if the music is good you have to, right? Who else is guilty of dancing in the aisles? I know I'm not the only one....or am I? https://www.facebook.com/1920119358277556/posts/2967143673575114/?sfnsn=scwspwa&extid=NaFoiIe7dlLWTaqT&d=w&vh=e
A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE. This month we should have been enjoying our annual 1950's Dine & Dance Party, but sadly during a penademic, this just isn't possible. Take a walk, or dance, with me down memory lane and be reminded of what we have to look forward to with Learn To Dance. Stay safe, stay healthy and....keep dancin'!
EVEN MORE LOCKDOWN LINGO! *Furlough Merlot* Wine consumed in an attempt to relieve the frustration of not working. Also known as bored-eaux or cabernet tedium.... *Coronadose* An overdose of bad news from consuming too much media during a time of crisis. Can result in a panicdemic. *The elephant in the Zoom* The glaring issue during a videoconferencing call that nobody feels able to mention. E.g. one participant has dramatically put on weight, suddenly sprouted terrible facial hair or has a worryingly messy house visible in the background. LOL!
https://youtu.be/r5--0EFmI2w A little dance therapy! Nurses get their groove on! Thank you to all our essential workers. It's been SO long, thank you for hanging in there. We haven't forgotten you.
MORE LOCKDOWN LINGO! *Le Creuset wrist* It’s the new avocado hand - an aching arm after taking one’s best saucepan outside to bang during the weekly ‘Clap For Carers.’ It might be heavy but you’re keen to impress the neighbours with your high-quality kitchenware. *Coronials*... As opposed to millennials, this refers to the future generation of babies conceived or born during coronavirus quarantine. They might also become known as Generation C or, more spookily, Children of the Quarn. Do you have any COVID lingo to share?
LOCKDOWN LINGO - are you fully conversant with the new terminology? *Coronacoaster* The ups and downs of your mood during the pandemic. You’re loving lockdown one minute but suddenly weepy with anxiety the next. It truly is an emotional coronacoaster. ... Maybe this will help? *Quarantinis* Experimental cocktails mixed from whatever random ingredients you have left in the house. The boozy equivalent of a store cupboard supper. Southern Comfort and Ribena quarantini with a glacé cherry garnish, anyone? These are sipped at locktail hour, ie. wine o’clock during lockdown, which seems to be creeping earlier with each passing week. Lol!
