Leaven is closedfor good. Despite a successful first year and a great customer following, due to rent increases over the year, it was no longer feasible to continue on. We are grateful to you, our customers, for the privilege of having served you. We were so blessed to be a part of a great community that grew up around the bakery! We truly will miss many of you that we have come to know over the past year.... But what a great experience it has been! We were fortunate enough to be able to pursue a dream, and learned and grew so much. Any hardship we endured pales in comparison to the blessings that followed! So don’t be sad how often does one get to say, I had a dream and I did it! We are moving on to new adventures as Mark returns to the field of education as principal of Ft. Nelson Secondary! Bring on the snow! God bless, and may you always find great bread!

Baguettes hot and toasty from the oven! Pick one up fresh early this morning...a bit of butter, local jam, and soft cheese, and you have an unbeatable brekky!

Lunch today: meat pies! Megan's wicked pastry with Four Quarters turkey and cranberry filling!

The oven is fired up again! What a great thing to see smoke wisping up from the old girl - our greatest fear was that beauty would go unused! Standard Pizza just opened up in the old Leaven location - great new look, great owner - stop in and try out their wood-fired pizza, and give a warm neighbourhood welcome to Matt!

We are thinking of putting together a cookbook of our recipes. Realistically it would be ready in time for Christmas. Anyone interested?
