Le Chocolat, A Mother's Day Primer Run

I am writing this note as we are being bombarded with emails and questions about this year's Le Chocolat Run in Windsor. A local Tradition we produced for 6 years is the largest race in Southern Ontario, with almost 3,000 participants and more than half being foreign tourists. That is an annual economic impact of $1.8 Million real not overinflated dollars into the Windsor economy. Our Tourists/Participant are best demographic in the world you can ever as for. 98% Women, i...nto healthy lifestyles and fun activities, 2/3rd are 35 to 55. The heatmap below shows where they all came from. We announced last year before the race, that Le Chocolat in Windsor was the last one. It will be in Toronto and Montreal from now on, hopefully, Milton in late fall. We battle every year to attract tourists to this community, with downtown issues and lack of things for our participants to do after the race is over (no shopping or dining open downtown). The City of Windsor and tourism would not support the event (instead sponsoring and supporting Hockey, Diving and Grand Prix Car Racing in Detroit) so it is a lot easier to go where the tourists are from... then to struggle to bring them to Windsor.
