Eunice the Unicorn Cake is ready to help us CELEBRATE 2020 and the end of it. There were so many good things that happened in 2020, babies were born (Hi Miya), puppies were adopted, families spent more time together than ever, people had more compassion & showed it in so many ways , doctors, nurses and front line workers became our heroes and the world slowed down, some areas like ours saw more wildlife (hello foxes) and even though we were living differently we were still able to live, dance, work and play together via zoom. When I listened to the @brenebrown podcast the other day with @priyaparker I had all the feels. They talked about the art of gathering and I think that’s a big thing we’re all missing right now. Gathering at parks, for dinners, at school, at work and more. The talk was about what it means when we come together, why connection requires intention and why gatherings are so meaningful. Then this image popped up from Chef Heather from her virtual pasta class this afternoon. ...She set up our space with intention, love and so much care as our new way of gathering is still so important. Our virtual classes are bringing people around tables to break bread & make it and also to connect and make meaning one gathering at a time. Thank you to all who gather with us and thank you to our wonderful group of teachers and admins who make these gatherings so special. Big shoutout to Hellen for working day and night to make your gatherings happen. (She’s been my friend since age 4!)Hopefully in 2021 we’ll gather again in person but also look back and treasure the ways in which we created meaning over the last few months.
