Throwback to our 30th book signing in our hometown of Sarnia at The Book Keeper. Thank you to all who continue to support the Paige Maddison Series. We finished our 50th book signing at Indigo Stoney Creek (4th time there) in the fall of 2019 before the pandemic was announced two months later. Will we see in person book signings again? "Hoping our lasting legacy in 2020 ... is that we really learned who's essential ... the folks who keep the world moving even when the rest of us have to stay home." In no particular order, from our first responders, to our trusted healthcare professionals, to our workers in the energy and utilities fields, our delivery people, mail carriers, to our essential workers that stock our shelves and ensure our grocery, pharmacy, and more ... provide our necessities, our farmers, t...he IT professionals, and manufacturers especially those who branched out to provide PPE, cashiers, those in our government rolling out safety policy and scientists re: vaccine rollouts, and our financial people, to our truck drivers ... every single worker provides an essential service to keep everyone safe. We need to hang on just a bit longer to ensure our world lands in a better place. Many of us have lost someone we love. Our hearts go out to all of you. So many people have died and they will always be remembered by their loved ones left behind. Thankfully, new protocols are emerging to let us all move forward in a more enlightened manner. Masks may be here to stay in healthcare settings, on TTC, and on airplanes, or trains. Amidst the pandemic, black lives matter resurfaced. We need to stop systemic racism in its tracks. Can you believe this is still happening in the 21st century? It's unfathomable!! I am reading White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo (thanks for the book Justin) so I can see where I am unwittingly adding to this culture. Only by standing up and fighting against it once and for all, will we work harmoniously to ward off any further disharmony in the world we live in. #blm See more

Today, our son (pictured here) Dr. Justin Matheson had his first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. He said it took 30 seconds, then 15 minutes of observation. Once he shared 'I feel great', they gave him a huge bag of Skittles and his appointment for his 2nd dose on March 31st. Many are receiving their vaccines and the ripple effect is leading closer and closer to all the rest of us. We hope all of you and your families are vaccinated soon if not already. Soon, we hope, this will be all behind us.
