New work complete.

"Holding the Focus of Wonder" (aka "Light and Dark") is done. It's been quite a journey. Much has changed in our world and my world during the fourteen months that it took to complete the painting. There are such subtle changes in light and colour in this work which are lost in this photo. I hope to have the chance to show it to you in person one day.

Remembering this English television ad from the '60s. There's an art connection here: Sir Clement Freud is the brother of renowned and brilliant portrait painter Lucian Freud - grandsons of Sigmund. There's something so essentially English about that kind of delivery, it's as hilarious today as it was the first time I saw it.
