Please remember to keep your masks on while in our office. Do not pull it down off your nose. Do not take it off for any reason. Let’s all try to stay safe as the numbers increase.
We have been notified that we are not considered part of the current lockdown so we will continue to remain open to help you with your vision care needs. We will continue to maintain strict guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid. As a reminder do not come to the office if you have any symptoms or possible exposure. You must wear a mask in our office. And you must have an appointment to come to our office in person even for repairs or choosing glasses .
Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you’re all staying safe this year. We can still enjoy the beautiful weather and some good meals!
A good time to appreciate good vision!

Batten down the hatches and excuse the wee bit of rage that I express in this post. 313 new cases in Ontario today. Most of them are linked to private social g...atherings. 1/3 are in people in their twenties. 80 % are in Toronto, Peel Region and Ottawa. Don't read on if you are a mature, responsible, selfless soul who has been diligently adhering to the public health guidelines. This post is not for you but if you know someone to whom this post applies, do send with reckless abandon. A second lockdown is not off the table. If you are hosting social gatherings without a care or concern of public health guidelines, you are not only putting your life at risk but you are putting the lives of others at risk AND you are putting our economy at risk. My guess is that those who are hosting parties can afford to host them. You have probably not been financially affected by COVID 19 either because your job is safe or because your parents support you. Good for you and shame on you. This is a global emergency. Sustaining your lifestyle, enjoying your life, seeking pleasure is just not a top priority. Do you get that? It is on you if this thing surges again. It is on you. To those of you who have responsibly adhered to the public health guidelines for the reduction of the risk of transmission of COVID 19, thank you and batten down the hatches. Behave like we did in March and April. Every public place is a place of risk. Stay six feet apart, wear a mask correctly and sanitize your hands. Get the hand sanitizer back into your pocket or purse. Talk to the people in your bubble and review the commitment all of you have made to stay in that bubble, because these inconsiderate folks may just cause an increase in community spread. When I heard that there were over 300 cases in Ontario today, I was angry. When I went to the grocery store tonight, I was more careful to stay six feet away, to wear my mask properly, to not touch my face and to sanitize my hands when I left the store. I had become just a bit complacent. Not any more. People working in the healthcare system are exhausted and we have a long way to go before we can rest. Your previous efforts stopped your healthcare system from being overwhelmed. Thank you. If you could spend a day in the ICU, you would understand how devastating a surge would be to those who work there. Keeping the healthcare system from being overwhelmed has allowed for a significant reduction in the risk of dying of COVID 19. That's because if you become infected and ill, an ICU bed is readily available and the early introduction of oxygen and, God forbid, intubation and life support decreases the risk of dying. Yes. Read that again. I used the words 'life support', 'dying', and 'intubation'. These are fighting words. They are dangerous words. Life support and intubation are not fun. You might not care about getting COVID 19 or passing it on to the elderly and the immunocompromised. If you don't care about the fact that contributing to an increase in community spread puts our kids and their schools at risk? No decent words come to mind. Enough said. This is hard work and everyone needs to pull themselves together and get to it. Rant over..... for now. Anne-Marie By all means.....share For non-Facebook users, you can find this post here: https://braceletofhope.blogspot.com/
