We have been stressing this the last few days. Check your external vents. Reach out to those around you that may not be physically able to check theirs and lend a hand helping them check and clear their vents as well.
Stock your trunk for the winter: sand, shovel, flashlight, flares, a portable jump starter, water and blankets are some of the items we recommend having on hand. #IAFFsafetytips
Extreme cold doesn’t have to be the reason to be a good neighbour. But with these temperatures that we are expecting the rest of the week it’s a great idea to k...eep an eye out for each other. We want all our residents to be safe and warm during this winter weather, including our furry friends. Just a reminder to ensure that they have access to a warm, dry place to seek shelter when needed.
We would like to congratulate Justine Boisson on receiving her red helmet and her promotion to Hall Captain. Congratulations Justine!
A reminder to all drivers this weekend to be safe and watch for flashing lights. Plows, graders and other equipment will be out and doing their best to clear roads as quickly as possible. Be patient when behind them and pass only when safe. We are on the outer edge of the storm and not predicted to get as much snow as other areas. However, it is best to be prepared. Check road conditions before leaving, have an emergency kit and warm clothing in your vehicle, just in case. As always a thank you in advance to all the operators out this weekend keeping our roads safe. To our partners in emergency service, be safe this weekend while out on calls. Be safe everyone!
Tonight when you set back your clocks take a few minutes to replace the batteries and test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. It is important to note that smoke detectors do expire. While you are changing the batteries check the date. Working smoke alarms save lives.
Just a reminder that we set our clocks back this weekend. Take a few extra minutes to check your smoke alarms and change your batteries. Don’t forget to check your carbon monoxide detectors as well.
Great work bee today! Got equipment moved over and the new truck set up. Thank you to everyone that gave up their morning to come out and help!
