Florida State University’s asst. coach Jason Lochhead will be attending the CBV Showcase Event, Dec 13-15. Jason is a former FIVB World Tour player from 2004-2012. He was the coach for Ben Saxton and Chaim Schalk, Canada’s Olympic team in 2016. And most recently he is the coach for USA’s Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena, who are also looking to make an Olympic run in 2020. The end of an era, but the start of an age. At the end of this month, Beach Paradise in Brantford will no longer be in operation. Here's a few photos and videos that made our highlights... . The first photo was taken after our very FIRST time out on the sand back in 2015 when we ran our free clinic. Maya McNabney received the Eagle award and won our only remaining legacy shirt. We told her at the time "don't worry, you'll grow into it"... Second photo was taken yesterday at ...our LAST time out on the sand. No words needed. . This facility has seen: free beach volleyball clinics, house leagues, high performance training with Olympic athletes as guest coaches, NCAA Showcase, tournament series, fundraisers and much much more. A relic of the past that will now live in the minds of a few. Thank you for the memories, you will be missed. This past weekend marks the first of 2 weekends where the beach volleyball action heads to Cobourg - Victoria Beach. Despite some of the rain, courts appeared to be in good condition! At the OVA Tour Event in Cobourg, Legacy athletes and teams find a way to medal in 7 of the 9 available tournaments (14U-18U, and D1/D2). On Aug 8/9 we are hosting an NCAA Beach Volleyball Showcase for all female athletes ages 12-20+, transfer students and NCAA commits. Currently there are 7 NCAA D1 coaches that will be watching/assessing a tournament on Aug 8, and then running a beach volleyball clinic on Aug 9.
