It’s Random Acts of Kindness Week! To celebrate, we’re sharing acts of kindness our Woo Monday winners performed with $100, to get you thinking about the role we play in making our province a better place: Theresa: That warming feeling you get when you’re able to do something nice for someone else it almost feels better for me than it does for them! ... Theresa used $100 to brighten the day of a student by helping out with his textbooks, and she took some weight off of the shoulders of a family who’s expecting a new addition. Whenever you can do a heart-warming, nice thing to be able to help in this time where people are struggling with COVID and people are losing jobsit’s a difficult time. To be able to say ‘here’s a bit of money’ to help them, it makes a difference. To help make someone else’s life easier gives me a nice feeling. Thank you for paying it forward, Theresa! Have you experienced an act of kindness? Share it in the comments below for a chance to win $200 a $100 for you and $100 to pay it forward. Winner will be selected February 22.
Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day! Last month, we gave away $1,000 to some of our members the only catch was that they had to take an additional $100 to pay it forward and brighten someone’s day. This week, we're sharing some of the acts of kindness they performed with the $100, to get you thinking about the role we play in making our province a better place. As a financial institution, we feel responsible for the wellbeing of the place we live and the people we live next ...to. To us, your wellbeing goes beyond physical, mental or financial factors. It's about OUR wellbeing, together. It's about the little things, like how we treat each other. And these small gifts of $100 are a small way of investing in you, so you can invest in your neighbour, so we can bank on something bigger than ourselves. Elaine: Kindness to me, as an older person, is people opening the door for me as I’m trying to go through. Kindness is someone saying ‘hello.’ Just the tiniest little acknowledgement that you feel towards another human being. We just don’t have enough of it. Elaine brought smiles to two local businesses (and dogs) with her acts of kindness. She gave a bouquet of flowers to her local Ukrainian grocery store to thank them for their outstanding customer service and donated $50 to the Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary, so they could treat her favorite dog, Rocky, to some beef jerky. There have been a lot of bad days and unrest in our world. If every person did just a little bit -- even a phone call or asking ‘how are you?’ -- during these troubled times, it makes a big difference in a person’s life. Thank you, Elaine, for paying it forward and brightening our day with your acts of kindness. We’re so proud to have you as a member. Have you experienced an act of kindness? Share it in the comments below for a chance to win $200 a $100 for you and $100 to pay it forward!
