LEGENDS IN THE TIME OF CORONAVIRUS Our beautiful little store is packed with wonderful reading material. Unfortunately this makes it a poor environment to promote social distancing. ... Therefore we are closing the store to browsing. But don’t worry. You may still order and pick up comics and books so you will have the good stuff to read while you self isolate. Just give us a call at 250-388-3696. Or email [email protected]. We will take your order and you can come pick it up at the door. Please consider giving a credit card number at the time of the order as this will speed up your visit. At this time we prefer not to handle cash. We will be maintaining flexible but shorter hours. For example you should be able to reach us by phone in the midday period. We will limit pick-ups to 11am to 1pm. (you can try knocking at other times but we may not be there) We hope all our customers are able to stay healthy in these perilous times. Shea has arrived! Her new book is gorgeous!

Author/illustrator Shea Proulx will be having an in-store book signing at Legends Comics & Books on Friday July 26th from 12:30 until 3:30 PM. She'll be signin...g copies of her newest book "Alice At Naptime." "Alice At Naptime" tells a universal story, of a parent pining for past freedoms, while simultaneously finding themselves adrift in an ocean of unconditional love. In drawing her daughter while she sleeps, the artist discovers an entry back into the creative life she is missing. As Alice is redrawn and retraced over a multitude of afternoons, an overarching narrative whispers through the pages, musing on the meeting of future and former selves. Shea Proulx spent her twenties going to forest-raves, living with a lot of strange people, and becoming over-educated at Emily Carr and UBC. Immediately after graduating with an MFA she discovered that she was totally pregnant. Juggling motherhood and artistic pursuits proved easier in Alberta, with the help of her mother, a fellow writer who really "gets" it. She's self-published two books, and her most recent book, Alice at Naptime, was published by Renegade Arts and Entertainment. Her work is a nerdy trip, where memories and observations co-mingle to form sweet psychedelic spaces, and visual narratives steal the show.
