Leith Summer Festival 19.05.2021

We would normally have been featuring the Georgian Bay Children's Choir at our annual Festival of Lessons & Carols at the Historic Leith Church this coming weekend. However, as with all our other events this year we have had to cancel the service due to Covid-19. Hopefully next year. In the meantime, please enjoy this performance.

May 2020 To all Patrons, Supporters and Subscribers of the Leith Summer Festival: It is with regret, but with a sense of civic responsibility (and common sense), that we announce the cancellation of the 2020 season of the Leith Summer Festival. We have delayed this announcement until now in hopes that somehow all or some of our concerts could still be staged but it is not to be. Our five concerts, the Ceilidh, Country Market and Anniversary Service are all cancelled for 20...20. Our intention is to mount a full program of five concerts in the Summer of 2021, bringing you the high-quality performances that characterize our Festival. Hopefully, our other events will also be reinstated. While we will not SEE you during this summer, we shall strive to stay in touch as much as possible by email, our website, and Facebook page, so that you can be fully informed about our planning for next season. As a charitable organization that relies on donations and ticket sales (we do not receive government grants), we always appreciate financial support. Should you wish to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the Historic Leith Church (built 1865), donations can be made by e-tranfer to our treasurer at [email protected]. No password is required. Tax receipts will be forwarded in due course for amounts over $20. Your generous support is greatly appreciated! We wish you all the best, and good health! Cheng2Duo is supposed to perform at Leith Church in July, but we are waiting to see what the Public Health Dept. says about gatherings for concerts. Hopeful, but doubting.... In the meantime, this charming duo continues to reach out with their music. Enjoy! Stay well!

A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS: The Board of Directors of the Leith Summer Festival advises the following with respect to the 2020 Leith Summer Festival season: We would normally be mailing out brochures and ticket order forms in mid April. In view of the current Pandemic and the uncertainties as to the restrictions which may be necessary, the Board has decided that we cannot proceed with this mailing. Instead, on or about May 31, 2020 the Board will make a decision as... to whether or not all or part of this year’s Festival will proceed as planned. In making this decision, the Board will consult with the Regional Health Officer as well as other stakeholders. If the decision is made to proceed with the Festival, information will be posted on our web site and through our FaceBook page. We will also be sending out this information to all of our friends and supporters for whom we have email or phone contact information. If you are unsure whether or not we have your contact information and wish to receive our updates, you may forward this to our Treasurer at [email protected]
