This post disappeared off our page so once again, we welcome Shirley Steward as ‘Dinah Grayson’ in the Dixie Swin Club. Shirley has been involved with Lennox Community Theatre for 27 years. She was in the inaugural performance of ‘Harvey’ in 1993, ‘The Rock and the Forrest’, ‘The Butler Did it’, ‘A Slight Case of Murder’, the male (not a misprint) lead in ‘Harvey’, ‘That Summer’, ‘The Foreigner’ and ‘Belongings.’ In addition to being on stage, Shirley has worked in many other... capacities with Lennox Community Theatre - Board of Directors, set dressing, props, Producer, Director, Costumer and Stage Manager. Shirley is grateful to have the pleasure of working with such a talented and hilarious cast, wonderful Director and awesome crew that worked hard to bring Dixie Swim Club to life.
Welcome to Havery Schultz, our guest artist for "The Dixie Swim Club". . Throughout most of my work I’ve found myself exploring the relationship between humanity and nature. Whether my medium be burned into wood or leather, I continue to revisit the theme of spiritual connection that unites us to the trees, the plants, and the animals. I enjoy this play of human emotion closely tied up with the simplicity of the natural world; the two concepts seemingly separate, but at the same time, dependent on one another. Meet the Artist is at the 22nd matinee performance; please check out her beautiful work at any of the performances.
Jane Adams-Roy as 'Vernadette' An organizational psychologist and retired military officer, Jane has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Manitoba, a Master’s Degree from Queen’s University and has served in a variety of roles including the CF’s Aviation Psychologist and Head of Social Policy Research for the Department of National Defence. She retired from the Canadian Forces in 2001 and served in various operational HR roles including with the Canadian Red Cross... Mission in Haiti. Research and publication areas include Ethical Decision-Making, Leadership, Harassment, Diversity, and the Psychometrics of Selection. Jane loves theatre. (Her first role was Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar in high school! She says thankfully no video exists from that time.) Locally, she has performed at the Domino Theatre in Kingston and at the Selby Theatre. She and her husband currently (ok, along with a team of fabulous ninjas) operate The Waterfront River Pub and Terrace and The Dundas Street Bakery. She lives in Napanee with her husband, daughter (who not surprisingly also loves theatre), and assorted furry creatures. "The Dixie Swim Club" opens March 20th at the Lennox Community Theatre. Welcome to Rebecca Sedore as Lexie An IT System manager nerd by day, and taxi driving mom by night. I grew up in Napanee, went to Chuck’s lunch with dad and the laundromat with mom. ET was the first movie I saw at a drive-in and my dad made us our very own rink in the back yard. My first job was at the Napanee Beaver where I built ads on the best Apple computers of the time. I believe I have mermaid DNA because I feel like a whole different person around water. ... I love to swim across a lake, or just float around an island with absolutely no fear and pure contentment. I have traveled as far as Bangalore, India and basically, people are interesting characters that you will find in every corner of the world. As I ease into my 40s, I thought it would be fun to try and portray one of these characters on a stage. Remember, I grew up with some of the best soap operas on TV ever, to pull those dramatic moments from in the 90s! I am an old soul artist at heart. I get excited about vinyl records, antiques and interesting rocks. I was lucky enough to find an amazing man (literally Superman) to share my love of creating and re-purposing. Together we refinish, paint, sew, cook, build and collect. We will be awesome at retirement! Ryder and Trinity are my ultimate masterpieces, yet they are also still there own amazing works in progress. "The Dixie Swim Club" opens March 20th at the Lennox Community Theatre.
