Something that is very close to our hearts is our modest backyard and what we can grow there. This year we will (hopefully) have a bountiful harvest of Pumpkins and Zucchini. It's not the actual veggies that excite us though. We give away loads to neighbors. But the flowers are a different story, Bengalis love zucchini/pumpkin flowers in any form and Vid @rougharoundtheedge is no different. Vid makes delectable fritters with these edible flowers as well as mustard based dish...es. The flowers are big and fleshy and have a delightful texture and flavor when fried with batter. As the months progress, we are hardly able to keep up with the flowers that bloom every morning. @ Kingston, Ontario

This is not a part of the meal program (yet) but what a colorful and healthy recipe for weekly prep. This one is a veggies and shrimp stir fry in a very light Asian base. Simply chop a bunch of garlic and ginger, stir in butter/sesame oil... Add veggies, we went with asparagus, Brussels sprouts and carrots And in your meat, we went with shrimps Add salt pepper, a touch of soy, rice vinegar and honey. And that's it. A lip smacking dish that is very very healthy and takes less than 15 mins to make.

Today's menu for meal packs is all about Indian comfort food. For the vegetarians- Rajma (red beans) and Jeera Rice is vegan and gluten free and packs 12 grams of protein along with magnesium and fibres. Kidney beans/red beans are a known diet ingredient for weight loss as they reduce carb intake and increase satiety.... For non Vegetarians- Curry chicken is a simple onion, cilantro and tomato based gravy with leg pieces of on the bone chicken pressure cooked. The cooking method retains all the flavors and nutrients of the chicken and is way healthier than frying/pan frying.
