Heavenly Creatures’ annual Christmas Pet Food & Donation drive is on daily and runs up to and including Dec. 23rd. After a particularly hard year (Covid complicated things for animal rescues, too), we are in DESPERATE need of support because our FOOD AND FUNDS are LOW! We need a lot of resources to get through the winter when there won't be much in the way of fundraising, but there WILL be a lot of animals counting on us - they count on us and we count on you to help us help them. DONATION DRIVE DETAILS This year our donation drive has to be done a little differently because of Covid - our office reception area is too small to socially distance if any amount of people show up (we normally get a lot of visitors during the lead up to Christmas). So in an effort not to be overwhelmed by too many people showing up to the HC office, the following stores have partnered with us to accept pet food donations (NOT monetary donations - those should be made online or brought to our office) and we're asking people to leave their donations there when possible. - Critters N Things (11 Commonwealth Avenue) - Wags to Whiskers, 470 Topsail Rd. - Both Pet Zone locations (320 Torbay Road next to Booster Juice and 80 Kenmount Road next to Montana’s). Also, pet supplies can be purchased at and left for us at the following grocery store locations: - Sobeys Howley Estates - Sobeys Kelsey Drive - Dominion on Stavanger If you have a monetary donation or supply donation that you wish to make in person, you can come by our office (3-7 Cashin Avenue) during the drive. OFFICE HOURS: During the weekdays, our office will be open between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 19th and 20th, Again, the drive is on up to and including Dec. 23rd. OUR WISH LIST - Monetary donations with which to pay for veterinary bills. Donations can be made through our donation link above. - Wet cat and kitten food (we primarily use Friskies and Fancy Feast, but also use Whiskas, Iams, PC and Our Compliments) and SCOOPABLE LITTER (any brand) are our BIGGEST SUPPLY NEEDS. - We need dry cat food (any brand but Whiskas) for our Pet Food Bank that helps low-income pet owners. - We also need litterboxes, litter scoops, scratching posts (we use the card board ones a lot). - Cat toys and treats (we prefer the non-dry soft treats or dehydrated meat treats). - Wet dog food (we’ll be okay for dry dog food). E-TRANSFERS: If you want to make a donation online, we’d prefer that everyone use the link above to donate, as the tax receipts are taken care of for us that way, which is a HUGE time saver (it frees up time we can use to save more animals).
