Thanks to Commerce Dorval for this advice. The reopening of retail stores with outside access (excluding shopping centers) has just been announced and will be available as of May 11th for us. Here is some advice around the challenges of reopening. The basic principle you should always keep in mind when reopening is to ENSURE THE PROTECTION OF YOUR EMPLOYEES AND YOUR CLIENTS. Your employees, as, because of government measures (esp. the CERB https://www.canada.ca//s/benefits/...ei/cerb-application.html> ), they need to be convinced that their security is protected (if not, they won't come in...). And your clients, so they come back... As an example, 87% of consumers are expecting that stores follow all sanitary regulations and 94% expect to wash their hands or have access to hand sanitizer as they walk into your store (Vigie Conso COVID survey by UQAM ). It's essential that you review in great detail the client flow in your store, with all the rules in place. By putting yourself in the shoes of your client, ensure that all is clearly marked and ensure that you communicate to your clients all the efforts you are making.
