SPECIAL BULLETIN (Another 4 week Lockdown) Advocacy for Wellness Services... Essential Health Services for Albertans We were disheartened by the news that the Government of Alberta included massage therapy, reflexology, and other wellness services in the mandated business closures that take effect on Sunday, December 13. While the law states public health orders must be obeyed, we will continue to advocate to the government that they don't restrict Albertans’ access to massage therapy and other wellness services at this time. We believe these are essential health services that must be available to people during this time of increased stress and hardship. As a Registered Massage Therapist, why are we not recognized as an essential service, the same as Physiotherapy and Acupuncture, by the provincial government - yet, we are recognized by insurance companies as an extended health benefit. This makes no sense!! If you are a massage therapist please copy, paste and share in support of being recognized as an essential service for all our fellow albertans
