Year-end thoughts. https://leslievilledentistry.com//six-months-in-what-have/
Winter break alert: Please note that the office will be closed from Dec 24th, 2020 to Jan 3rd, 2021 inclusively. Please reach out to the Dental Emergency Service at 416-485-7121 should you require any emergency treatment. Lastly, continue to stay safe and healthy!
If you’re looking to book an appointment before the end of the year, please note we are closed as of December 24th and won’t be open again until the new year! Only a few appointments left!
Your dentist would like to see you again and your safety is their priority. Dentists are using their training as infection prevention and control experts to help keep dental offices safe during the pandemic. Learn more at https://www.youroralhealth.ca.
Less than one more month before Christmas! If you have unused dental benefits for the year, and your teeth are feeling like they need a good cleaning, please call us! Our last day for the year is December 23rd!
We are still open! Please note that the lockdown will not affect dental offices at this time. Our office has used enhanced precautions since we reopened, and will continue to do so for the safety of our patients and our staff.
Website is currently down-will try to get it back up running soon. Thanks to the person who alerted me to its status!
Before the day’s craziness hits, a moment of calm before the storm.
Oct 10, 2020 update Please be advised that we are still OPEN under the modified Stage 2 restrictions in Ontario. We have taken all enhanced precautions to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff. We only ask that you are 100% healthy without symptoms of ANY illness for your appointment. Happy Thanksgiving!
Still thinking about the heartfelt kind words from a patient who is moving away to be closer to family. In a world where only negative feedback ever gets conveyed, it’s nice to be on the receiving end of positivity. Glad to have been of service!
Before the pandemic, the week of August 3-7 was designated as a summer holiday week for the office. After much consideration and with staff consultation, we have decided to keep the office semi-closed so that we can have some time off for summery things as one staff put it. We have been reopened for 7 weeks and everyone has worked extremely hard during that time. Given how short summer is, this is a well deserved break. Full dental services will resume on August 10th.
In order to create physical distancing, we have had to revamp the schedule to allow for more time between patients and staggered arrivals. This means fewer appointments a day. If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, you will join the back of the queue for appointments as we need to accommodate others who have been patiently waiting. Please make attending your appointment a priority if you are healthy, because the next availability may be two to three months away.
Please be patient if you have yet to receive a call from us to reschedule your cancelled appointment. We are currently calling patients who were cancelled as of late April. If you are experiencing an emergency, please don't hesitate to contact us yourself. We are trying to accommodate those are already on the schedule, those who were cancelled during the shutdown, those who have urgent needs, those who had ongoing treatment put on hold, and those who are new to us. Thank you for your understanding and your patience.
Thank you to the patients who have voiced their appreciation for all the changes we have made. In the past three weeks since we’ve reopened, we have heard the words Thank you over and over again. It is truly our pleasure. #safetyfirst
What are you doing differently? This is a common question we are fielding every day from patients wishing to return for routine dentistry. Along with being outfitted in full PPE, closing off operatories, pre-screeening and rescreening both staff and patients daily, staggering patient arrival times and implementing temperature checks, we also have new air purifiers in each operatory to provide increased air changes. But the pièce de résistance is the extraoral suction device that removes aerosols at source, in every operatory. The video shows the errant spray (tip is aimed into cup) from the ultrasonic cleaner being drawn away from an increasing distance. My hand underneath remained completely dry. Droplets have no chance!
Starting slow this week and next with non aerosol generating cleanings only. Just a bit more patience until I get to pick up the drill again!
We are gradually reopening as of this week. If you had your appointment cancelled during the COVID shutdown, rest assured we will be calling you very soon to offer a new appointment. Thank you for everyone’s kind words during these difficult times. We look forward to seeing you!
The New Abnormal. https://leslievilledentistry.com/blog/
Contrary to media reports, dental offices have NOT reopened. We are still waiting on reopening guidance from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Ontario Dental Association. The announcement from the Chief Medical Officer that health care providers can gradually reopen is simply a first step. Many of us are still waiting for PPE supplies and new equipment to be delivered in order to comply with new standards. We, along with all other dental offices in the province, want nothing but to serve the public again, but we must tread carefully and make sure we are doing things as safely as we can. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. Stay tuned for actual information on what can be expected the next time you set foot in a dental office. Hint: wearing will likely be a must.
Please share blog post widely. We need your help. https://leslievilledentistry.com/blog/
Changes are coming to dental offices everywhere. Just know that this is all being done to maintain safety for everyonepatients and staff alike. No projected opening date yet, but will be tied to the end of Ontario’s State of Emergency. #staysafe
Please note that the office is currently fully shut down to all in person dental treatment. Should you have a dental emergency, you may leave your name and phone number, and I will call you back personally to offer advice over the phone, or to refer you to another office if your needs are urgent and acute. You may also try contacting another office on your own if you wish. I regret not being able to do more at this time, and look forward to serving you once again in the future. Stay safe.
Being at home more has allowed me to take up my hobbies again. It also doesn’t hurt to have a wonderful partner with whom to play. Hope you all had a good Easter!
Just a reminder that although we have been shutdown, I’ve still been at the office to field calls and emails during the week, and to make sure the practice is still well maintained for emergency patients. We are closed for the long weekend as originally plannedHappy Easter and Happy Passover to those who celebrate. Let’s continue to isolate ourselves even though the sun is beckoning us. Stay safe!
I found this on the wall next to my mailbox today: a small but significant message from an anonymous supporter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
With dwindling supplies of PPE available to dentists, make sure you are doing your part in maintaining good dental health. Brush and floss like your life depends on it, because your dentist may not be able to help you when there are no more masks to be had, and fixing your teeth becomes too risky.
What does it mean to be shut down? https://leslievilledentistry.com/blog/in-the-red/
Appointments through April 8th have been cancelled so far. It has been very demoralizing for me to sit in an empty office cancelling days worth of patients. On top of that, take a look at the battle I’ve been involved in: https://www.theglobeandmail.com//article-dentists-fightin/
Here’s a publication by the Ontario Dental Association with helpful information on the current #covid19 crisis. Please pay particular attention to the section regarding true dental emergencies. Help dentists #staysafe too! https://oda.ca/156-you-an/478-covid-19-updates-from-the-oda
As per the direction of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, our office will be suspending all routine and elective dentistry until further notice. There will be limited designated days for true dental emergencies. I will be monitoring voicemails and emails in order to triage patients, and those who need immediate attention will be screened and scheduled appropriately. Thank you for your understanding at this time. Let’s all stay safe.
