Les Petits Virtuoses 29.01.2021

Improvisation can be done at any age. This student has a favorite song which just happened to be the easiest thing to improvise on. As long as you stay on the black keys, you’re golden! There were no rules and no prompts - just listening, creating and feeling the music in the moment. Improvisation is a wonderful way to allow your student to let go and freely play music while also being the perfect opportunity for a teacher to assess the natural musicality of the student. This little one surprised me when she started singing and what a beautiful surprise that was. I truly live for moments like these

Taylor Mitz (B.Mus/M.Mus) Violin Violinist Taylor Mitz presents an impactful musical experience to audiences and students in the greater Montreal area. A versatile musician, Taylor finds himself comfortable as a performer, collaborator, and pedagogue presenting a dynamic repertoire and adaptable approach to pedagogy. His vision for pedagogy centers around the belief of a positive and encouraging environment to foster intellectual growth and development. Every child has the a...bility to learn and develop their own unique voice. Taylor was recently headteacher at Encore! Sistema Quebec Parc-Extension location, a programme designed to inspire children and youth to achieve their full potential through learning and performing orchestral music. Taylor earned a Master of Music in violin performance from the Schulich School of Music of McGill University and a Bachelor of Music from the Florida State University. See more

Gabriel Rioux (B.Mus/M.Mus) Beginner cello/Double Bass Gabriel Rioux leads an active career as a performer and pedagogue, offering audiences and students a memorable musical experience based on sharing, creativity, and innovation. Gabriel teaches double bass privately at his home studio and as an instructor at the College Notre-Dame in Montreal. He also recently joined the passionate team of the studio Les Petits Virtuoses. His dynamic pedagogical approach is based on the principle that music learning should foster self development in a fun, positive, and productive context.
