We have some great events coming to our region in the next couple weeks. This Saturday, August 26th is going to be one of the busiest of the summer! We have the River Parade happening at the MD boat launch from 10am-2pm. St. Peter's Ecumenical Church is holding a golf fundraiser at 2pm at the Gilwood golf course, and who could forget about the Ice breaker hockey game with Wayne Gretzky as one of guest hockey players starting at 2pm with a dinner to follow. Labour Day weekend will be another busy one with the Smith Fall Fair taking place from Friday to Sunday! With the summer coming to an end make sure to check out some of the awesome events! :)

Current advisories effective in the area are as followed, the Lily Lake Trail is closed until further notice due to aggressive bear behavior, and there is also an advisory for swimmer's itch at Devonshire beach. For more information on up-to-date advisories for the area check out the link below.

Mark your calendars, the River Parade takes place Saturday August 26th! Make sure to bring your own canoe, kayak, paddle board or tube and be at the MD boatlaunch for 10:00 AM. Relax and have fun floating down the river, and afterwards enjoy the BBQ! Participants in the parade are also entered into a draw to win some cool prizes so make sure you are there!
