November 19, 2021 Attn: LMHA families, players, coaches and bench staff As of November 15, 2021, there were changes to the Restricted Exemption Program through the Government of Alberta, Alberta Health Services and City of Lethbridge. As Lethbridge Minor Hockey Association utilizes City of Lethbridge facilities, we are required to follow the guidelines set out by the Province, AHS and the City. We wanted to ensure everyone is aware of those changes moving forward so they ca...n plan and prepare accordingly. All arenas/facilities will now have security present to verify documentation. All spectators, coaches and bench staff over the age of 12 must show an Alberta Vaccine Record with QR code, documentation of a medical exemption, or proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within the last 72 hours. Unfortunately, the LMHA cards created to show that proof of documentation has been provided will no longer be accepted. As QR codes need to be scanned and verified, this can at times create a line-up to enter facilities. Please ensure you have provided extra time to ensure this isn’t a problem for your player. Some teams have chosen to have a parent positioned at the door to assist with scanning the QR codes to move the line along quicker. Children who are entering the building with the sole intention of playing their scheduled hockey game or practice or any children under the age of 12 are not required to show any documentation. Please be aware that if your player chooses to stay after their game or practice to watch another team, they have become a spectator, and will be required to show their documentation if they are over 12 years of age. We appreciate your assistance and support with this, and hope that everyone is having a great season so far!
