We are so excited to introduce our second dance class session of the season! This time we have the amazing Dustin Bettger offering a four week session of classes in multiple styles including Jazz, Lyrical, and Street Jazz! Register soon as spots fill up fast, and in order to maintain a safe distance apart, the class is capped at 6 dancers. For more info, or to register, email [email protected] Instructor Bio: Dustin began his dance journey at the age of 15 years old in Lethbrid...ge, Alberta with his high school dance program under the direction of Betty Poulsen. Upon discovering his passion for dance he pursued his dream and travelled to Vancouver, BC where he began his professional training with the ITP Program through Harbour Dance Centre. Here he studied Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Street Jazz, Modern, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Tap. Dustin’s professional experience began with the Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich for one season. As of recently he has been performing, singing and dancing onboard the stages with Disney Cruiseline for the past six years. As an onboard Swing and Dance Captain he performed in many different roles, portraying well known Disney characters such as Tarzan, Captain Hook, Prince Phillip, Lumiere and many more! Dustin has received certifications in Yoga as well as Acrobatic Arts for Dancers. Dustin has recently returned home to teach along side his sister at Jodi’s Dance Academy. He is thrilled to be teaching this upcoming four week series! Class description: Dustin will be offering a variety of genres throughout his four week teaching session! All classes will begin with a high energy warm up and followed with fun and exciting technical movements across the floor. These four classes will learn choreography and combinations to a variety of music and in the styles of Lyrical, Jazz and Street Jazz. It takes a village, and we are thankful for everyone in it! This past weekend, the board of LSIDA was once again hard at work behind the scenes to make the society the best it can be for everyone in our community. As much as we most definitely miss having ongoing programming for dance creation, education, and performance, we understand the need to keep Covid numbers low, and are doing our best to support that. But that doesn’t mean that LSIDA has been quiet behind the scene...s. We are thankful that we have this time to have strategic planning sessions and board meetings to build upon and improve the society. However, we could not do this work alone and we have many thanks to give. Thank you to @thepennycoffeehouse for catering for us again- the food was lovely! Thank you to @casalethbridge for providing a safe and beautiful space for us to meet with proper social distance parameters in place. On this note we would also like to thank Pavan Park for providing a beautiful outdoor space for us a few weeks back. And a huge thank you to Jillian Bracken for guiding us through all of these planning sessions. Your hard work and great help has been invaluable and we are very thankful for you and thank you to the @cityoflethbridge Recreation and Culture Department with the City of Lethbridge Art Committee.
