Chiropractor's are like Detectives - Instead of looking for criminals, we're looking for signs of nerve interference. Removing nerve interference allows your nervous system to function better and when your nervous system functions better so does the rest of you!

This is a process we call scoping, it’s done every visit. The black box one is called a Delta-T and the round greyish one is a Nervoscope. They both do the same job. What does it do you ask? ... It assesses differences in heat on either side of the spine at each level of the spine. It helps the Chiropractor hone in on problematic areas in your spine where there is increased pressure and irritation. These specific levels will cause a sharp jump in the meter indicating to the Chiropractor where to closely investigate the health and integrity of the joint. It is one of many tools we use and is one of a number of different checks used to help determine where best to adjust you.

Have you ever wondered how well your nervous system is functioning? You may be wondering how would you even measure this? Well you can use technology like the CLA Insight system pictured here. There are 3 scans that measure different aspects of your nervous system and then a Core score is produced which gives you a baseline function of your nervous system. Pretty cool right?... The 3 different scans are: 1. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) - Which looks at how well your system shifts back-and-forth between your parasympathetic (rest and digest) versus sympathetic (fight or flight) systems. 2. Thermography- Your nervous system regulates body temperature, this scan reads how well that is being controlled. 3. Surface EMG - This last scan looks at postural muscle activity. These muscles are under involuntary control and regulated by the nervous system. It gives us some insight into how well your muscles responsible for posture are working to keep you upright in gravity. All this is important because your nervous system is the master control system of the body. It regulates and communicates with every single organ, gland, muscle, tissue and cell in the body. #themoreyouknow See more

Ever wonder what Chiropractors are feeling for on your neck and back? It’s called palpating, feeling the joints and all the soft tissue surrounding those joints. There are two kinds of palpating: Static Palpation (what Dr. Bjola is doing here) and Motion Palpation. With Static Palpation the idea is to feel the tone of the muscle and skin, you’re feeling for edema/swelling and tender or sore areas on the spine.... With Motion Palpation the idea is to feel the integrity of joint motion in your spine. Those 24 moveable bones in your spine have a very specific degrees of movement. When they’re not moving freely then that will stress out the joint and all the nerve tissue that comes out of the spine at that level. See more
