Drive-by kisses!

Let's Roll MaMa 09.04.2021

You may think us special needs moms have it pretty rough. We have no choice, we just have to manage life when things get really tough. But you see, we have made it through the days that we never thought we’d get through. We even impress ourselves with all of the things we do. ... We’ve gained patience beyond measure, love we never dreamt of giving. We worry about the future but know that no matter what, this life is worth living. Just like everyone else, we have bad days, but we hold our heads up high. We feel happiness, pride and gratitude, much more than we cry. For our kids, we are not just great moms, we teach them so much more. They learn about preserverence, compassion, empathy and patience, before they even turn four. Sometimes people make rude remarks and we handle their ignorance with dignity and grace. Even though the pain we feel in our hearts, is not easily erasers We have to think about many things that others don’t and sometimes it’s difficult to digest. We worry about our health and future constantly, but we always give our children our best. Between therapies, treatments, infections, appointments, on top of being a mom, we don’t get many breaks. It wears us down, but for our kids we do whatever it takes. We are selfless, not by choice, other people just seem to have more needs. We are not trying to change the world, but we do hope to plant some seeds. All we want is our children to lead a full life and to be accepted. That really is our only aim. When we look at them, we just see kids, and we just want everyone else to do the same.

I created this page in 2017, with the goal of sharing my struggles and my triumphs, in hopes of educating, inspiring and empowering my followers. Unfortunately, a few months after creating it, I ran into some very serious health problems that turned my life upside down. Between the health problem (a chronic pressure wound that I am still dealing with today), Oliver's father and I splitting up for a year, moving to Calgary and then of course, COVID19, this page, that I once... cared so much about, sadly had to be placed on the back burner. I would try to post pictures once in a while, but nothing on a regular basis. Well, now that my life is back on track (pressure sore is under control, Cory and I worked things out and are doing amazing, COVID19 restrictions have been lifted and the three of us have been exploring this beautiful city/province), I really want to start engaging with my followers more! To my astonishment, somehow I have close to 400!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all for being patient and sticking with me even when I would sometimes go months without posting. I am really going to try to post more often and I really want to start making live videos and blogging!! If anyone has any suggestions or ideas of things I could do and/or what to focus on to make this page more interesting and achieve what i hope to advance, please dont be shy!!
