K-12 Educators are you interested in having a live interactive coral reef tour for your students or community group? If so, we have a large coral reef fish tank at uOttawa Science and are doing live virtual tours for K-12 classrooms. Here's a quick video from today. We talk about how corals develop, habitats, connections/symbiosis in the ecosystem, the threats to coral reefs, and how we can protect them. Students can talk and ask questions while the tour is happening. If you are interested, the contact information for our coral reef coordinator is here: https://outreach.letstalkscience.ca/.../on-campus-events....

Congratulations to Raven, one of our October volunteer’s of the month at Carleton! Volunteering has always been a part of my life, and it is an incredible experience to work with Let’s Talk Science, especially with the Butterfly Show. I’ve been going to the butterfly show since I was 4 years old, and I’m glad that I had the opportunity to bring that experience to other kids so they can fall in love with it just as I did. - Raven

This live event will allow you to connect with the speakers one-on-one and get your #science questions answered. The more questions the better! . Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 18 & Thursday, Nov. 19, 6:30 - 8:00 pm EST. The virtual doors open at 6:00 pm. Participants can attend one or both nights! This free event is open to all ages. For years, Frontier College Ottawa held in-person Homework Club programs at over a dozen branches of the Ottawa Public Library / Bibliothèque publique d'Ottawa.... We also held an outdoor summer program on Rideau Hall grounds called Storytime at Rideau Hall. During the lockdown in the summer of 2020, we moved all of our programming online, creating one-on-one matches between volunteers and learners so that we could continue to offer tutoring to children and youth across Ottawa. We also created the hugely successful Science Saturdays program with Let's Talk Science in Ottawa. None of this would have been possible without Sarah, the Community Coordinator for Frontier College Ottawa. Thanks, Sarah, for everything you do to deliver literacy programming to children, youth, and adults all over Ottawa! #FacesofFrontier
