Lets decolonize the female body? For me, what this new generation of girls from the Brazilian Funk Scene is bringing in is absolutely liberating and empowering! Growing up I received the opposite message, that a woman that assumes and explores her body with freedom is vulgar and didnt deserve respect. ... The saddest thing is that we could still hear that a woman who dresses or dance in a certain way is asking for trouble, legitimizing the rape culture, still pretty alive in Brazil and many other cultures. Can I share something with you? Even if its not always easy, if I feel certainly lonely most of the time, if my country and the world are crumbling in pieces and that humanity is facing the most difficult challenge of all times... Somehow, I managed to keep going, I asked my doctor for an anti-depressant, I put my shit together, I opened online classes, I got anxiety crises, I stopped them. I got better and opened outside classes. ... And here are the result. What I wanted to share is how grateful I am to the universe that provides me with so much choices and opportunities. And how grateful I am to myself, for choosing day after day to fight, to stand up and to have built this community called Levanta Poeira. #levantasambando #gratefulness #empoweredsamba
