With closures to gyms and most probably another lock down coming up, the government is trying to do their best to protect the civilians with all the resources they have. So we got some rules we have to play by. Social distance between each other except for your family or bubble. Masks in and out of stores. Avoid large crowds. With Christmas coming up we have to Stay disciplined. The government is doing their part. Now it is up to us to do our part. We have to learn how to p...rotect ourselves during these difficult times. Staying home Doenst mean getting out of shape or get mentally weak or lose motivation of life. This lock down is to preserve life and making sure we have a life to come back to. Reinvent your self. If you know you have a job or a occupation that isn’t ‘essential’ make yourself essential. I’m working on myself as well. Who knows what normal Is after this. Who knows how long lock downs will last. Who knows how long this will keep up. In the mean time stay sharp in the head and strong in the body. Make sure your diet or food intake is highly nutritional. Drink lots of water. Get lots of vegetables and green leafy veggies in you. Get lean protein. Get your healthy fat in. Eat your multi vitamins. Get your vitamin d. With winter coming up the sun will be inconsistent. Get exercise. Get walking in. Do squats, push up, some sit ups, some burpees. Do something to get your heart rate up to at least 60%. Do strength exercise to keep bone density up. Get outside where it is safe. Get fresh air in your lungs. If it’s cold, wear more clothes. If it rains, wear a rain jacket. No more excuses. Time to take control of what you can and that is yourself. This is the time to get stronger. When life resumes back to ‘normal’ we want to jump back in without skipping a beat. The world will move on with or without you. It is your choice. If we can help you in any way, msg up. Level UP!

Covid-19 update for all Students ______________________________________________________ British Columbia Health Authority announced yesterday that Martial Arts Classes are included in the list of authorized indoor physical activity. Level UP Fitness has worked closely with Fraser Health to understand the new precautions that must be taken. It is important now more than ever for our students to follow and understand our Covid-19 Prevention Plan to insure we can remain open ...and stay Covid free during these difficult times. We will be approaching our opening this Monday as we did back in June with the following: 1. All classes will be non contact maintaining 6 feet social distancing at all times! Level UP Fitness staff will guide students upon entering. Screening and temperature checks, and sanitizing before entering the designated training area. Masks are mandatory upon entering and exiting the gym. 2. There will be no lending of gear. Please be sure to bring all YOUR OWN gear for each session. TOWELS WILL BE MANDATORY for each student to bring. 3. Only students taking classes will be permitted and parents must wait inside their vehicles until classes are finished. We urge students to only come 5 minutes before their class and to wait in their vehicles until they are called to line up at the door by Level UP Fitness staff. Students will be asked to leave immediately after class through the designated exit . This is to ensure that there will be less contact between individuals. 4. All mats, pads, and any other gear our students come into contact with will be sanitizer using hospital grade cleaners between classes. 5. Students that use the weight training section will be assigned a disinfectant spray bottle which you will use before and after touching any equipment. 6. Washrooms, door handles, and all other high contact areas will be sanitized at regular intervals. Due to our precautionary measures, if you have any symptoms of illness please refrain from coming to the gym. If you have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 please stay home for 14 days. We’ve missed all of our students and can’t wait to get back to scheduled classes at Level UP Fitness. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday!!

Brace yourself. We are living during a weird time right now. Do the things that make you heathy and happy. Be with your family. I know during stressful times it’s difficult to have fun or to see a end but we will get through this. ... We have to take this day by day. Fighting and arguing with people cause more stress than anything else. If you are reading comments or reading articles that spike your heart rate. Stop and do something else. Create a better balance in your body and brain. Again, we will get through this. In order to get through this we got to be smart, strong and tough. All about balance. Tough times do not last. Tough people do. Eat healthy, get good sleep, exercise at your home, stimulate the brain, get outside where it’s safe. Breathe. Where a mask at appropriate times. Pet a puppy if you see one. Keep your distance from people but show love and respect to your fellow human. We are all having a rough time. I included. I’m not special. I have no idea when we can do group classes again but fingers crossed we can get some work, some sweat and some muscles stimulated. Stay strong. If Level Up can help you in any ways please msg me, txt me, call me, snail mail me, drop by at the gym, whatever. We got you.

Another week of gym shut downs. It’s easy to say that I have been stressed because of closures during these times. After the first reopening we had to do more work with fewer people in each class. Now there is a great deal of uncertainty of how we will be able to proceed with classes. ... It seems strange that as a motivator I could lose motivation for teaching fitness. I am kept motivated by knowing that I have been able to help other people through fitness. I’m very lucky that after I informed people that I had to shut the gym down for the week I got a great deal of motivating messages from people at the gym. The people I see on the daily including my family makes me understand why I do this kind of work. Not only is it rewarding to me but rewarding the people that put hard work into themselves to be healthier and stronger. Tough times do not last. Tough people do.

Level UP members, As you have probably heard by now our provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry has introduced new health regulations. Included in those regulations are instructions to stop all group classes until a new Covid-19 plan is approved by a local health officer or until November 23rd. ... With the surge in cases and with the new mandates we will not be holding strength and conditioning classes this week. We will reassess what will be the best practice for the following week. Tough times don’t last. Tough people do. Hopefully we will see you awesome guys and girls in a week. If anyone has questions or concerns please message me or call me. Stay safe and Level Up!

Squat wars. Freddy and Evelyn wanted to see who can do more squats between the 2. The 2 wanted me to come up with a game and rules.... We moved a weight. I gave them a weight that was a third of their body weight. If we just did body weight it would take forever. What was funny between the 2 is they were so competitive with each other and tried to do more squats than each other. The competitiveness turned into encouragement. Push yourself. Today is a great day to get stronger.
