"Knowledge stands the test of time." These are the words of Judge Murray Pelletier in his address to Saskatoon students who completed the mock trial activity of Level's Indigenous Outreach Program. We are honoured to have Judge Pelletier share his wisdom! Photo by NC Raine of Judge Murray Pelletier's official swearing in at the Provincial Courthouse in Saskatoon in August 2019.
Last Friday, our Queens and UVic Chapters hosted a joint event as part of Human Rights in Pandemic Times: A Canadian Law School Conference hosted by the Queen's Human Rights Law Club (QHRLC). They were joined by speakers Professor Patricia Barkaskas, Academic Director of the Indigenous Community Legal Clinic, Meenakshi Mannoe from Pivot Legal Society and Mewded Mengesha from Black Legal Action Centre who shared important insights into policing and systemic racism during the Covid-19 pandemic.
