"80% of the work needed to become successful is just showing up every day." I saw this on a friend's wall the other day and I can't stop thinking about it. His grandpa used to tell him this when he was growing up. It got me to thinking about how this could apply to me.... What am I doing to chip away at my goals every day? Even spending 5 minutes a day adds up to 30 hours over the course of a year. Imagine if I devoted an hour every day to something I cared about and were moving towards. What do you think that adds up to? It’s pretty crazy. I did the math for you and me both. It comes out to 15 days if you work 24 hours a day, or 45 days at 8 hours a day. That's a lot of time! What would happen if you devoted 45 days to one goal you had? (on the flip side, how many days a year are you spending on stuff that doesn’t matter?) How much could you accomplish? What are you waiting for? What am I waiting for? You have 24 hours in every day. Make them count. Pick something that moves you closer to your goals, and do it. An hour a day. A minute a day. 30 minutes a day. It’s all moving you toward your goal. What targets are you looking to hit in your business or life this year?

. . - You have all heard me say it, but make sure the homepage of your website is well filled out with WHAT you do, and WHERE you do it. We always aim for at least 1000 words on the homepage, with keywords and location sprinkled throughout. As well, we recommend separate pages to break out and talk about the services you offer. Google doesn’t automatically know what you do. The more content you have on your ...website that talks about your services, the better Google can match you with customers who are specifically searching for the service you provide. . - Not only are we a huge advocate for good website content, but the search engines want to see good content as well. One way to show that your website is still relevant and alive is to do regular content updates or additions. Keep the content coming, and make sure to have a good time adding value to your customers in the process. How-to, Informational, and Things to Look Out For all make good content additions. . - There are several types of Metadata that are important on your website. If these are not filled out, you are missing out on opportunities to let Google know more about your business. The Title Tag is the page title that displays on the browser tab and the headline when your website shows up in the search results. Make sure to include your service and location name in the Title Tag. The Description Metadata is also very important. This is the description of your webpage that shows up in the search results. Each page has the ability to have a custom Title Tag and Description Metadata. Take advantage of these opportunities to give your website the cutting edge, and show up for terms that matter to your business. H1 tags are also another important marker to let Google know what you do. . - You can describe any pictures on your website using an Alt Tag, or an alternative text description. This allows the search engines to use your pictures as another reference to what you do and where you do it. Make sure to include relevant service and location keywords in your alt tags. . - Think of backlinks as a vote in the eyes of the search engines. A backlink is when another website links back to your website. Now, not every backlink is created equal. Make sure to get your backlinks from powerful websites with relevant content if you can. .. ! If you have more questions about things to help your website turn into a money making machine, we would love to do an audit for you, or hop on a call and walk you through some improvements that can be made. Small fish may struggle with big food, and big fish can’t survive on small food. My friend Josh Brown summed up some of my recent thoughts so well when he said the statements above. In business, I hear a lot of people complaining about the guy who is selling services for half or a quarter of what they are charging....Continue reading
