Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will take on the role of Minister of Finance. She will be the first woman to assume that role, and I know she will continue to serve Canadians well as she leads the restart and recovery of our economy. She will also remain Deputy Prime Minister. Dominic LeBlanc becomes Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. He is already familiar with this portfolio, having previously served as the Minister from 2018-2019. In this role, he will work closely with the premiers on issues that matter most to you. He will also remain the President of the Queen’s Privy Council of Canada.
