March 31st is the Trans Day of Visibility. Today and everyday it is important to recognize and to celebrate the contributions of Trans people all around the world.

For the past 10 years, Omari and I have been working with educators from across the country, sharing historical facts to broaden the perspectives of the student...s we serve. Yesterday, in our effort to educate students about the history of the N-word, a teacher at St. Thomas High School derailed a presentation Omari was delivering. We have never experienced such offensive behavior and an intentional act to disrupt a presentation rooted in facts. The majority of staff and students that we’ve worked with over the years have been wonderful and have expressed their gratitude for our presentations. We will continue in our efforts to promote a broader and more inclusive world view. Thank you for the outpouring of support.

LGBTQ2+ Vaudreuil-Soulanges se prépare à se lancer en tant qu'organisme indépendant dans les prochains mois, et à ce but, nous recherchons présentement une coordinnateurrice pour aider à soutenir l'organisme dans ses activités administratives et programmatiques. Le ou la coordonnateurrice sera responsable des tâches administratives, telles que répondre aux courriels et aux appels téléphoniques ainsi que faire la vérification des documents. En outre, le ou la coordonnateurrice sera chargée de rechercher des possibilités de financement et de travailler sur les demandes de subventions. Troisièmement, le ou la coordonnateurrice peut également être responsable de l'engagement communautaire et de la programmation jeunesse. Ce contrat à temps partiel peut prendre la forme d'un contrat mensuel ou d'un nombre d'heures préétabli et s'accompagne d'un salaire de 16 $ / heure. For many LGBTQ2+ people, the world of sports has long been inaccessible. Some pretty notable athletes came out in 2020, and its helping to change the culture of the sports world.

Welcome back to a new year! As we begin reopening our programs for the 2021 year, the times and days of our programs are expected to change to reflect the changes in government recommendations. Please keep an eye on your emails and our social media for possible modifications! Currently our services are only available on Zoom, until at least January 11th.

Our Support Group for Friends and Family will be meeting twice this week, once in-person and once online. Our in-person meeting will take place tomorrow, November 10th, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the main hall of the Beaconsfield United Church. Spaces are limited at our in-person meetings so participants are required to sign up in advance. Our online meeting will take place on Wednesday, November 11th from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Online meetings are held on Zoom, and participan...ts need to reach out to us to receive the login info for the meeting. It will help us guide the creation of these programs and the community knowledge that exists in the region.
