Good news! I am now open again as some restrictions have been lifted. I welcome everyone back as long as you are not sick or have any doubtful symptoms, have not traveled up to 14 days before your appointment, and have not been in recent contact with anyone who is sick. Please have a face mask on when you come in and rest assured that I have always sanitized between clients and I will continue to do so. Let's all get back to normal life while respecting each other's health a...nd safety :) I will be making contact with existing clients to arrange appointments, but feel free to contact me first. I look forward to seeing you all again! Thank you :)
Notice that I will be temporarily closed until April 9th due to the Covid-19 regulations. Stay safe everyone :) Edit - Now closed until further notice. I will be working on rescheduling appointments with the aim to keep everyone on track as much as possible. Thank you for your continued understanding!
This is a pretty good explanation of the current coronavirus situation I thought I would share. Stay healthy and safe everyone :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtN-goy9VOY
Why does laser only work on hair in the anagen phase? Anagen hair is actively growing hair. As can be seen in the image below and in the previous post, in the anagen phase, the hair follicle is attached to the dermal papilla. It receives blood supply and the surrounding cells proliferate to extend the hair from the base. This stage lasts for a limited time and then the hair moves on to catagen and telogen phases where the hair detaches from the dermal papilla and is shed out ...of the skin. When the laser targets hair in the anagen phase, the thermal damage to the follicle extends to the dermal papilla where the cells that produce the hair are also destroyed and are no longer able to produce hair. The hair in catagen or telogen phases are not connected to the dermal papilla and so no damage is caused and no long term change occurs in these follicles. See more
I will be making some posts over the next few weeks to briefly answer many common questions about laser hair removal. Feel free to comment or inbox me with any questions you would like to see answered in a post :) I will start with the how a laser works. In the attached image, you can see a hair follicle in the anagen phase being targeted by the laser beam. A laser uses a single wavelength of light which is absorbed by the concentrated melanin in the hair follicle. The energy absorbed by the follicle heats it up and destroys it, thus preventing its ability to regrow. The damaged hair is essentially induced into the next stage of the growth cycle and eventually is shed from the skin 1-2 weeks later.
Good afternoon ladies :) To cater to different needs, there are now 3 full body value packages to choose from. In the Standard and Complete packages, face and neck are done every 4 weeks (whereas the rest are done every 6 weeks) up until your last full body session which means you will get bonus face and neck treatments. I am also taking the opportunity to list my end of the year flash sale deals. These sales are limited so please share with your family and friends!
My promotion is now officially over. It was a pleasure meeting all my new clients this month :) Stay tuned for some flash end of the year sales!
5 more days left to book an appointment to save on your sessions :)
Just a little reminder that my opening promotion is ending soon (less than 2 weeks to go!). If you haven't yet had the chance to book, you still have time to take advantage of the deal. That's 20% off all your treatment sessions or $250 for each full body session. Cheers! :)
Good morning :) A common question I have been getting is "does it hurt?". While pain is subjective, in most treatment areas, I confidently say 'No, it is not." Unlike traditional lasers, the Soprano uses SHR technology meaning it heats up the area gradually to eventually damage the hair follicles. Thus, instead of individual strong zaps to each tiny area, this technology uses an in-motion technique where many small pulses are delivered quickly over a larger area. Coupled wit...h the ICE hand piece which keeps the contact of the laser with the skin cold, this makes the treatment comfortable in most areas. For areas where the skin is more delicate, there will be some discomfort, however, because the treatment is relatively quick, in comparison to traditional lasers, the Soprano is still relatively pain-free. Consultations are always free so please feel free to contact me to come in and experience it for yourself! On another note, I have openings for Sunday 10am and 2pm, and Mon/Tues 1pm and 5pm. Send me a message if you would like to book or share with someone who might be interested. Stay warm and have a lovely Friday! :)
