As we continue moving forward with this unprecedented situation, I’ve been fielding a lot of questions about what is and isn’t acceptable for seeking massage during this time. I am sending out this email to clarify new recommendations that have just been released, and these come directly from my governing body. I will share them with you here: COVID-19 Update Directive from Chief Medical Officer and FAQs for RMTs The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) understa...Continue reading

To all my wonderful clients, I recognize that there is a lot of uncertainty, stress and worry surrounding everything that is going on in the world around us right now. Many of you rely on your massage treatments as a means of coping with debilitating pain, staying ahead of migraines and chronic headaches, as well as a way to curb stress and anxiety. I want to assure all of you, that I will continue to remain open and you will not be left without the help you rely on. ... I am taking extra precautions right now, which include spacing my clients out to allow extra time to clean and sterilize all surfaces between client appointments. It goes without saying, that if you are feeling unwell and have any of the symptoms associated with this covid-19, please stay home and take care of yourself. The health and safety of all my clients is of utmost importance to me. So if you are in need of a massage, please call/text/email me and I will schedule you in. I would prefer you to contact me directly so I can override the automated appointment availability that is shown with the online booking software. This will allow me to space everyone out safely. All the best to you and your families, stay healthy (AND sane!) over the coming weeks Sincerely, Lianne

With the COVID-19 causing full swing closures and cancellations of many events and services, I wanted to take a moment to address my clients and let them know that we are following protocol to make sure that our business is as safe as it possibly can be for you. In this instance, as is during every flu season, the following steps are being taken to ensure your safety: 1. Handwashing is the first, foremost and fiercest protection from spreading this infection. As massage thera...pists, we probably wash our hands more than most people. During this time, we are all stepping up our game and there is hand sanitizer present in every room for added protection. 2. COVID-19 typically isn’t easily spread through airborne particles. Instead it is more likely to be transmitted through touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your eyes, nose or mouth. What this means is we can demonstrate our dedication to hygiene and safety by cleaning not only our table and massage equipment, but also our doorknobs, light switches, cellphones, keyboards and anything else we or you as our clients, touch. 3. COVID-19 does not appear to cause serious disease in most younger people who are fundamentally healthy. For people with autoimmune or chronic lung problems, this is a different situation. If you have an appointment booked and are worried because you fall into this category, we will gladly reschedule your appointment. 4. Take excellent care of your own health. This is not the time to push your limits for getting enough sleep, or eating healthy food. And above all, avoid panicking, and get your information from credible sources.
