Libby's Temple Retreats 18.11.2020

I just went to a massage appointment with the therapist that I liked. I thought that she was quite knowledgeable but no matter how much is learned in class, it takes time for them to apply that as an understanding. She has only been doing massage for four years so it is understandable. I came in with a debilitating problem in my upper arm which I knew only required the kind of precision deep tissue work that I do. I pointed exactly to the muscle I wanted her to work on f...irst and how far along I wanted it. It took 8 tries for her to find the muscle even though each time I showed her exactly where it was. I actually finally gave up on her next try and let her continue but she did finally start hitting it but alot of time was wasted. She was usually right off the muscle not even on the side of it but really going at it like she was getting right down to business. The unfortunate thing is that alot of clients will not know any better and just accept and use up their benefits with little results. However, alot of clients come to me because they are searching for a therapist that is really good and usually stick with me after. At one point I said that maybe she has an excellent technique for feeling like she isn't on the muscle but actually is haha. It isn't fair though that, that kind of thing goes on. In the end that muscle did get down to a functioning level but it still needs work. She did get to the cord on the left side of the bicep as well and since she did that second, she was much better at hitting the target. However there was not enough time to do the cord between those two others. It takes alot out of me to have to teach while I am getting massaged. It is frustrating and it drains me...and I am paying $100/hr. I, on the other hand get right down to business and work on what needs working on. Of course it helps that I am 98% accurate as I am asking where and my technique really makes alot of progress fast. It was bad enough but then we worked on the other area that was really bothering me. It would make me jolt when I moved a certain way. So I showed her exactly where I wanted it and then she asked if it is mostly on the ribs. Where I was showing her was the erector muscles along the side of the spine. I said yes it is mainly the ribs but I didn't mention that it was also the place I was asking her to work on because I thought I had already clarified. So she missed the place I pointed to but she did find a lot of places on my ribs so I let it go. I was pretty worn out by then and too soon the hour was up and I was needing more. The place I pointed to, I was able to work out with yoga in the end because the other places were loosened-up. But anyhow, I still like her because at least she doesn't get offended and I think she realizes that she can learn from me. See more

Well fans, I closed my lovely office because the economy is unstable right now. Too bad if you missed it. Anyhow I am now doing outcalls. Same great work as always but I am no longer doing charity. Even though I should be one of the highest paid therapists in the city, I just put my price up to $100/hr. That is fine. I don't want to gouge anyone. Because of my great reputation for being one of the few best in the city for massage work, people do not hesitate to pay the increase in price, of course. Thank you to all my patrons. Much appreciated. And tell your friends who are in pain that there is a therapist who has technique refined from over thirty years. They might like to see how good that is.

I am doing more spontaneous healing the days. I think I always could do it but now that I am a live-in therapist, I get to hear about the results. It is very encouraging.

I have been doing instant healing quite a bit on the client that I live with. It has reminded me of this gift I have. When I first started doing massage professionally, I did it quite alot as part of my work and that is why I was given the name Golden Hands by the community. I had clients from coast to coast. However because of the disturbing environment I was in, I could not maintain this level of work and I became very interested in deep tissue and trigger-point and learnin...g therapeutic techniques and anatomy in regards to disfunction. Doing Reiki and Therapeutic Touch for people, I would use that ability but I trailed off that when I noticed an escort advertising Massage and Reiki. This renewed interest is making me study it more. Usually when someone comes in with an advanced case of a muscle that has turned to bone, I get frustrated and so I work on it hard and that is hard for people to recover from for a couple of days before they realize how much they have improved. Sometimes I will do my work in this case in a highly sensitive way with great results but if life is stressful then it is hard to get into that mode. Life is good these days. Yesterday A Mennonite woman came in with calcified muscles in her neck. I used my ability to talk to the body. I was able to get the calcification to crumble and worked in an amazing way with it. It is like the ability to get plants to dance. I used to do that in my livingrrom and thought what a useless ability. If only I could put it to good use and here it is. See more

When we get older, our muscles get tighter if we do not stretch them enough or go for deep tissue massage. The muscles on the outside of the leg all the way down to the calf are very strong so that when they get tight they pull hard on what their influence is. That influence is the top of the hip. They pull everything down from there and above it as well. It degenerates the spine in the lower part just above the hip and then works its way up. As well the hamstring pulls ...Continue reading

I am going to let go of my beautiful office that I got in March. I had a scary dream back in February that made me make moves too fast otherwise if I had waited a month, I would have known about the shutdown. I lost money on my office. I had heard there would be a shutdown but I didn't believe the reality of it. Anyhow, the govt is stalling with fully opening things so I think that it is better for me to shut the office down. I can always get another if necessary. So, ...Aug is my last month with an office across from the Canfor Mill in the Risley Hydraulics building. After that I will be doing home visits for both massage and my Past Life Journeys. Presently my work is $80/hr. My new price for Sept is $100/hour. I am still keeping my price below value but because I am always one of the top, I have edged my price a bit higher. I remain generous and charitable with that. One hour of my massage is usually equivalent to 3 hours with another therapist and you don't normally need a chiropractic when you have me especially for spinal and hip issues. So don't waste time if you need to get in.

I have a new office down the hall from a yoga studio. It is really nice so if you want to get in, you should.

Are you guys using this time to stretch?

I haven't posted in awhile. I have a client who had problems with his back for close to a decade and it just kept getting worse and worse until he couldn't work anymore and contemplated suicide. He went to a doctor who said to him, "What do you want me to do about it, alot of people have pain?" He went to a physiotherapist who did needling on him and he came to me. Between the two of us he was finding some relief; mostly from me especially when I did a Thai Yoga massage mo...ve on him which stretched out the disks in his lower back. He however has been coming to me everyday lately and his sciatica is gone except for a couple of mega second twinges in the last 5 days. All he is really left with is a bit of stiffness. I see his confidence returning. He used to come to me with a look of shock and disbelief that he may not find a solution outside of surgery which he dreaded. He is moving normally now as before he was very careful especially when he arrived. He actually said that he split wood the other day and has been lying on his side which he could not do for a couple of years. He is getting used to his new state of wellness. I have clients who come to me who really need serious help but there is only so much that I can do for them in two hours. They need to keep coming back and do self-help which he does. Sometimes we all give up too fast. I am always so happy to help my clients. I also give them motivation as I am a transformational coach as well.

Drats!!!! Corona has forced me to shut the doors for a bit. Before that, a woman came in who had a really bad headache for 8 days or more and part way through the massage the headache was gone and it hasn't come back. I told you before, necks and headaches are a specialty of mine. Another client I had before the shutdown has been off work for 10 years with a debilitating back condition. He has been diligently trying to get help and helping himself as well. He has been t...o a doctor that told him, What do you want me to do, lots of people have pain." He has been going to a physiotherapist for a few years or more and he has tried other massage therapists. He wasn't coming to me that often over the last 2 years but more so when I gingerly did one of my Thai Yoga Massage techniques on him because I thought it would really help. I was so afraid to do it for the longest time because he was in so much pain and he was afraid of alot o other techniques but when I forged ahead with what I thought he needed he started getting better but he was still not good. He would get throbbing in his feet. He would get acute pains in his lower back if he laid on his side and even if he pitched a Frisbee for his dog it would put him in bed after feeling good. I made him a beanbag full of rice. I made a home visit and sewed it there. I happened to have come down with the same problem so the two of us brainstormed it and of course because of my background in therapy, I got my issue figured out quite quickly. I was crippled for four days and now I am just a bit stiff but that will go away soon. I am now passing onto him what I learned when I work on him. He had an acute attack and made the trip into town and he said that he is doing better than ever. I love hearing stories like that but it just reminds me...like the mountain of evidence keeps getting higher and higher that our medical community is mostly just out for a buck. That is sociopathic. Knowing that you could help someone who is suffering but it is smarter to let them suffer so you can profit. I don't work that way. But I make less money and many people that could come to me don't because I am not registered. Such a pity for them.

Everyday I experience magic with my work. A client came by last week with his hip pushed way back from a fall on ice. I was so worried about him. I did my best. This week he came back and to my delighted surprise, his hips were even. He said that he stretched. The combination is magical. He could have been crippled for life with that hip but instead he is perfect.
