New update to the map at Project ‘44! Amazing to see the web map fill in with units which fought to the west of 3 CDN Infantry Division. As we add more units there more insight can be gained from different perspectives. Check it out!

"We can truly say that the whole circuit of the Earth is girdled with the graves of our dead. In the course of my pilgrimage, I have many times asked myself whe...ther there can be more potent advocates of peace upon Earth through the years to come, than this massed multitude of silent witnesses to the desolation of war." The words of King George V on 11 May 1922, on a visit to Tyne Cot Cemetry and Memorial. These images show the cemetery during construction, and today, awaiting future pilgrims returning on a pilgrimage of remembrance to Flanders Fields. We will remember them. The Bucket List Something we hear often at Liberation Tours: a battlefield tour has been on my bucket list for years. But what does that mean? Generally, it means a traveler hopes to take such a trip one day, some day, but they have other things to do first! More specific to travel, people will take all the other trips on their wish list a Caribbean island, a cruise and when those are done they’ll finally get around to taking a battlefield tour. In short, bucket list it...ems are usually at the bottom of the travel list. This has come into sharp focus with the pandemic, which has interrupted our ability to travel. You may be hearing on the news that there is pent-up demand for leisure travel, and especially for those bucket list trips. Maybe this will include a battlefield tour? Now is the perfect time to do some travel planning, and to think about joining us for a remembrance tour. Booking early will be key, as upcoming tours are expected to sell out. People have begun to realize - it's time to raise that bucket list item to the top of the list. Europe is waiting for us, and their safety and health protocols will make for comfortable, safe travel. It’s time to connect with your family heritage, or simply to join us for the fascinating historical locations of WW1 and WW2 Vimy Ridge, Ortona, Juno Beach, Passchendaele, Arnhem along with all the amazing cultural beauty of western Europe along the way. If you are looking for a unique experience, an special journey that leaves you feeling great pride, check us out at www.liberationtours.ca .
