We're all okay here at Liberty. Darryl stayed at the store until midnight last night, just mopping up the water as it came in under the door. This morning we just have sandy sidewalks and sandy windows to deal with. The county has put everything back in place on the pier (benches were all moved around) and clean up is already done with the exception of the big sandpile at the end of Walker street. That will be a lot easier to move as it dries, I guess.

One minute of rising water on Harbour St. There's no talking, only wind noise and a partial swear at the end when the wave almost gets my foot wet. This weekend has been unusually busy so far, but it's not ideal weather today. I'm not gonna put the ship's wheel or signs out today! We are open though, until 5:00, unless Harbour St gets closed. If it does, I'll go home early and curl up with my daughter and her new video game :)

The Dover Rocks Box wrapped things up today, and as one of the businesses who benefitted from this wonderful program I want to say Thank You to all involved and especially THANK YOU to Meika Matthews for pulling it off! What an astounding success!! #doverrocksbox

I want to thank the customer with whom I was talking on the phone when my daycare called. I kind of just shut down and you stayed cool and finished our transaction quickly and calmly. Thank you. I had to close early to pick up my daughter because she had a headache (migraines run in the family and we fear she got the gene :( but she has to have a negative COVID-19 test before she can go back now, so I'll be staying home with her ). Missing a Friday afternoon in peak season is not ideal, but you know how it is; Mom first, retailer second. Terri will open at the normal time tomorrow. Have a great weekend everybody!

We're at peak season here on the pier! Foot traffic is at lower levels than last summer, but sales still pretty good! I snagged a few quick photos of our local pottery to share with you though. Prices are often visible in the photos, but feel free to ask me for prices on any specific pieces!

My mom passed away this past February. She was behind me all the way with this little business venture of mine. She told everybody she met to check out her daughter's shop. People sometimes come in and say, "you're Linda's daughter, right? She said I had to be sure to go in your shop whenever I was at the pier!"

Welcome back, neighbours!

Current Hours Mon, Wed & Friday 12:00 to 4:00 Sat & Sunday 12:00 to 5:00

I'm finding that nothing really happens before noon, and three is too early to leave. Today I'm trying out 12:00 to 4:00, since they're calling for rain in the afternoon. Tomorrow, Terry's Back!! 12:00 to 5:00 (It's optional for her to work, she chose 'yes' and can change her mind at any time!)... I'm sorry I haven't set my hours yet. I think I said Monday, Wednesday and Friday at first, but my husband has decided to go plant tobacco on an old friend's farm, and I don't know yet how many hours I can afford to give Terry (last year she made more than I did!) and I lost my main babysitter and I can only bring my daughter to the store with me for so many hours a week before something breaks, so... It's tricky. The inability to plan anything ahead is one of those spin-off results of the pandemic that causes a lot of stress under the surface. Here is a picture of our new kitten, to sweeten this post :D

Harbour St is open again! And the puzzle exchange is super-full right now :) If some of you would like to start by taking one without putting one in its place, I think that would be fine. We won't be able to close the lid of it gets any fuller!

Well folks, just as I was asking the county to open Harbour St back up so I could open for curbside pickups, the news hit that retail stores with a street entrance are allowed to open up for in-store shopping! With social distancing measures in effect, of course. So, we'll be open for realsies on WEDNESDAY MAY 20! We'll open from 11:00 to 3:00 that day. I still have to decide on new hours and cleaning procedures.

Libertarians! I JUST made an order for puzzles and still have some in stock, but these Star Trek puzzles weren't available when I placed the order, and now they are! I need to gauge interest to see if I can justify ordering more than my usual 2 each of new Jigsaw puzzle titles. So would you please help me out by commenting YES if you want to buy a Star Trek jigsaw puzzle in the next two weeks??? And could you specify which of these four you like best? Also, if you have a Facebook friend who you know is a fan, could you tag them? These will be available for free local delivery and also for shipping anywhere in North America.
