Feature Garden of the Week: Indigenous Pollinator Garden at Wanuskewin. This garden was planted by many caring hands in 2015 and designed in a way that would allow it to become part of the landscape and not need care. I visited this fall before the snow and the plants are all doing what they do; moving around a little to find where they like to grow best. The garden is very diverse and has nesting sites available for ground and cavity-nesting solitary bees under rocks and inside of the flower stalks that stay standing year-round.

We just added three great new plant checklists to our website: two from Pine Cree Regional Park (Grassland and Forest) and one from Batoche National Historic Site. Find them here: https://www.npss.sk.ca/info-resources/plant-checklists

I am helping to facilitate the Wednesday programs! I believe there is still space available for the winter and spring seasons. Forest Schools are 'nature-based communities where trained practitioners nurture learner-led exploration and discovery, nurturing meaningful experiences for positive lifelong impacts.'

Yes... we might have to sweep our driveways and sidewalks... but all plant material should stay on your property. Leave what you can and rake the rest into your "Wild Area". MORE HERE: https://www.fultonsun.com//leave-some-leaves-wildl/842395/
