REPENTANCE: True God given repentance is easy to spot. For example... a backslider returning to church and a life in Jesus, though the flesh is going to put up a fight and yes there is a process... 3 signs of a true repentant heart will be obvious. 1) OPEN REPENTANCE- at an altar to renew a "First Love." Where re-commitment and a spiritual re-signing of the initial covenant is sought with all the heart. And only when and if granted, tears of thankfulness and overwhelming jo...y are released from a true desire because the seeker knows what a gift true repentance really is! 2) CHANGE- refusing to return to any thought or action or even geographical location that brought you down in the first place. Evil or negative associations are immediately cut off and only the will and heart of God AllMighty are sought with everything inside... simply so that we may please Him and let him know "I said what I meant & I meant what I said... at the altar." 3) HUMILITY- understanding that I'm not supposed to be here (As a Gentile and/or as a sinner) and only the mercy and grace of God has allowed it. Making an internal pact with self... I'm not in control but I give control to Jesus Christ and His will for my life. And allowing that pact with self to shine outwardly for all the world to see through outwardly submitting to God... and finally, living in complete submission to Gods will and never forcing myself to prove anything to any man (never stepping up to TAKE in defiance as proof of who we want others to think we are) but only to God himself in the "closet" for we understand and are so very thankful that God is fighting my battles again! Knowing that when we submit to God we also submit to God given authority, and when we do these things everyone around us will know where our heart is! There will be NO NEED to prove anything! PAUL SAID IT BEST IN PHILIPPIANS 3:10-11 "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead." We know that having a true repentant heart is NOT something embarrassing or belittling, but is highly honoured and respected as God gets all the glory! God bless your day!
