The Farm Gleaning Project helps to connect our fantastic community farm partners with the Food Rescue’s excellent redistribution services! We are so happy to say that over 6,000lbs of fresh, local food was shared this season. This means that less food was wasted and more food was used to create delicious, fulfilling meals for folks all across the Capital Region District. There are many hands to thank and that help to make projects like this one possible! Thank you to our far...m partners who plant, nourish and grow this delicious local food: Blue Dog Farm Square Root Farm Sun Trio Farm Lohbrunner Community Farm Co-op Sweet Acres Farm and Saanich Organics.Thank you to our fantastic core group of gleaners that lead weekly pick ups: Ashley, Conan, Donnee, Pat and Sharon. Thank you to the always incredible team at The Mustard Seed Street Church Food Security Distribution Centre for weighing, sorting and delivering all of this food to local community organizations under the Food Share Network umbrella. Let’s continue to create a stronger, more resilient food system and community network together \\ #farming #farmgleaning #supportlocal #community #yyj //
