You may be wondering how this quote could pertain to "self-care". Well, the most important person this quote applies to is YOU! We live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with messages that we are not enough as we are. That we could be better with this expensive skincare item, this designer outfit, that new car, with losing 10 lbs, or getting more "buff", or making more money or looking younger. While trying to be a better you is always a good thing (something I... personally strive for every day) - don't confuse that with not understanding that you are perfect - just the way you are - right now - today. If you feel you NEED to change yourself it means that you really don't like yourself. And if you don't like yourself how could you possibly love yourself? Real love begins on the inside. If you are consistently (and often subconsciously) telling yourself you are not good enough you will very soon be projecting that on others and be critical of them as well. Your disappointment in yourself will be reflected in your disappointment in others. Sometimes those people will begin to believe it and in turn, they reflect it back and the cycle continues. We all need to love ourselves unconditionally not only because we deserve that but because that is the road to loving others unconditionally as well. Escaping this vortex is simple, but not easy. You need to acknowledge that you don't NEED to change. That you are only human. That you are enough just as you are. This doesn't mean you should give up your journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. But what it does mean is that once you truly acknowledge and believe in your self-worth it makes that whole "working on being a better me" journey all the easier! Once you accept your own failings and mistakes (and we ALL have them), you can look around you with a new perspective, and instead of agonizing over your inadequacies you can choose, if you want to, to step toward self-improvement because you want to make the lives of the people around you better too, The only way to get there is through the surprisingly difficult realization that you are ok. In fact, you’re more than ok, you are awesome!

Such an interesting story! And there's much more to it than I posted here. Definitely one worth googling. Happy Saturday London!

Happy Friday London! It's time to check-in on the residential real estate market in the city for the past week. After the typical slow-down for the holiday season (although this one wasn't quite as slow as past years) things are getting busier again. Are you thinking of buying or selling this year? Give me a shout and let's talk about how I could best help you. No obligation, of course. Just a conversation to see if we click and may like to work together. :)

Hi London! It's time for my Local Business of the Week and this week it's Six N Stone handmade jewellery! Back in January 2016, Shannon Burnham - self-proclaimed Owner, Designer, Photographer, Social Media Specialist, Bookkeeper, and Delivery Woman - had one of those moments that many have, I believe, but rarely act upon. To make the story short, after visiting jewellery shops of the French Quarter in New Orleans, she was inspired to try her hand at jewellery making herself.... Shannon started off with creating pieces made from repurposed jewellery but soon after was drawn to the beauty and mystery of precious stones and crystals and once again, she followed her inspiration and intuition and we now all get to enjoy what is today's Six N Stone. To quote directly from their website: "Our collection represents the balance that’s brought in when your intuitions come together with manifestation." Now, I don't know about you but that's right up my alley! You can just tell by browsing all the gorgeous items on their site or social media pages that all the pieces are made with intention, creativity, and love. And as if all of that isn't enough Shannon also wanted to give back and pay it forward when someone helped her live her dream - now there's some great karma for everyone involved! So when you purchase a piece from Six N Stone a meal is donated to the Breakfast Club of Canada. Think about that - how can you NOT buy something?! According to their website, over 9,000 meals have been donated so far. That's amazing! I loved clicking through the website. Besides getting to see all the gorgeous items, including some for kids, it also has a Crystal Guide and a Style Quiz. So interesting and so fun! So take a few minutes to check them out and don't forget to hit that "LIKE" button to show your support for this local business. Wishing you all the best, Shannon!
