Lifemark acknowledges the significant impact the cancellations of the clinical component of the Physiotherapy Competency Examination (PCE) has had on almost 500 of our physiotherapy colleagues across Canada, including many of our own team members. As an organization, Lifemark stands with those affected by these cancellations. We understand how incredibly challenging this situation is and have heard first-hand the toll it is taking on new grads and those who have been internat...ionally trained. We hear you and we are here to support you. As one of Canada’s largest rehabilitation leaders, we understand we have a role to play not only in supporting our own team, but also in helping to shape the future for the profession. We stand in support of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and the industry that are calling for the suspension of the requirement for candidates to complete the clinical component of the PCE this spring, so those impacted can obtain their license. We are committed to working collaboratively with the CPA and our respective Colleges to discuss the potential impact for future physiotherapists and explore solutions.
Are you feeling discomfort in your lower back, or knees and ankles? The piriformis muscle, located deep beneath the gluteal muscles, might be the culprit. This muscle plays an important role in hip flexibility and stability, so giving it a good stretch can help relieve that tightness! Lie down, bend one knee upwards and cross it over your other leg while gently pulling, and hold for 30sec-1min and release. Try out three sets, three times a day, and feel the relief! #TuesdayTip
If you've ever received a concussion, you know how unpleasant an experience it is. The recovery process isn't always a walk in the park either, but a concussion assessment and physiotherapy can help the treatment process https://bit.ly/2OjUueY

The use of needles to relieve acute or chronic muscle pain is nothing new, but there are different techniques to achieve these pain relief goals. While intramuscular stimulation (IMS) and dry needling are similar, there are some key differences too https://bit.ly/3aaeR5b
