Massive difference. I have spent my whole day feeling hurt. Hurt because I realize it’s every man for themselves in this brutal world. Hurt because people will believe what they want without clarification or honest conversation. Hurt because people will lie about you only to protect themselves. I talked to a friend today and I said, you know when I was married, I had so much trust and so little drama. Now, you’re thrown into the den to learn about people and all their brokenness. Things happen, and as you’re healing, you also have to learn to defend yourself if need be. It’s a whole new learning curve, but one I take on with courage and hope that I’ll find my little secure nest of people again. But tonight, I feel ridiculously alone and that’s ok too.
