We are excited to announce our new Lighthouse Associate: The multi-talented and incredible Sean Weis-Heitner, BSW! After years of working in the restaurant industry, Sean decided to focus on his passion for helping others and venture into the world of drug and addiction counselling. ... Sean is passionate about providing support and service to the community. In 2016 he graduated with a Bachelor's of Social Work from McGill University and is currently a member of the OTSTCFQ. In addition to his background in social work, Sean has personal experience with drugs, addiction, and recovery that facilitate his ability to support and identify the needs of his clients. In his work, Sean hopes to assist his clients by identifying realistic and achievable goals while building a toolbox of strategies that can be used by his clients and their loved ones to help cope with their new reality. He whole-heartedly believes in the potential of every person struggling with addiction and strives to help people find the strength and courage necessary to overcome their most difficult challenges. We are so grateful for the passion and energy Sean brings to the Lighthouse Counselling Centre and are thrilled to have him on the team! We are excited to announce our new Lighthouse associate: The remarkable Nadia Argueta, MSW. Nadia has a Master’s degree in Social Work from McGill University and has worked in the field for over 8 years. She is trained in individual counselling, group facilitation and crisis intervention. Nadia has worked with various populations including survivors of gender-based violence as well as individuals struggling with addiction and mental health. In her practice, Nadia integrates... cognitive and dialectical behavioural therapeutic tools, motivational interviewing, structured relapse prevention, and breath work skills. Nadia hopes to collaborate with individuals, couples, and families in their journey towards their inner work, communication development, and emotional healing. As a Lighthouse associate, Nadia is an integral part of our outpatient program and takes an active role in supporting our clients. Among her many assets, Nadia is also trilingual and able to provide service in English, French and Spanish. We are so grateful for the experience and energy that Nadia brings to the Lighthouse Counselling Centre and are ecstatic to have her on the team!
