Friends, we woke up to so much change today. And change is so scary.... but also good. Change means new life. And with new life we have hope. ... Hope for all the things we love, enjoy and want in life. If you think about it before the real awesome, amazing and truly wonderful milestones there is always a ruff patch. Before we get new teeth....we are miserable and our bodies fight for these new parts breaking through... Before we get a new house... we spend months packing and prepping and getting financials in order and stressing over this and that... And before new life we must embrace our daily changing bodies and prepare for labour... My point is all these changes have a ripple effect. And they are all hard while we are going through them. But we need the change to get to the good stuff. Oh those lil details we love so much

I read this question recently and I’m torn by my answer.... If you built a time machine, would you travel to the past or to the future? Gosh- I have an answer for both. And honestly I’m not sure I can give one answer right now. ... However the funny thing is- as I sat with this question it kept bringing me back to photography and more specifically photographs. I luuuuuuuvvvv that when I look at a photograph I can see both the past and the future. If it’s a new family I might relive our session together and smile at all the laughs or goof ups and how loud or quiet it was that day. While I also see how many memories they have coming... first steps, first words, first pukes and diaper leaks up the back (I don’t know why my mind goes there probably cause I’m still traumatized!) I wonder if dad will cry when he walks her down the isle and I hope mom will take extra naps when lil one is teething up a storm... and where will their first vacation be to? I do this so naturally and instinctually with my own photographs and albums! Maybe it’s a natural mom thing. Always thinking of yesterday and tomorrow at the same time? So I’m super curious... which would you pick? The past or the future? Tell me your why? Wonder if it matches all my reasons for both! See more

No question I would not be the woman I am today without all the strong, loving, confident, resilient and dedicated females that surround me. They lift me up and push me forward. They are close to me and far away. Yet their energy is the same and the power of female is so profound and so brilliant. Thank you to all you wonderful ladies. If you wonder if it’s you, the answer is YES! I’m also incredibly grateful to all the woman who led the way so that I (we) could be ...here today and live with such courage. This includes woman’s names we all know in history as well as the woman in our families that quietly and softly made history for us in our own families today. Thinking about their legacy leaves me in complete awe. And it motivates me to make a mark of my own.
